MAAD CITY Bar — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

I came to this bar by myself while walking back to my hotel after coming from the beach at around 11pm-midnight.

The atmosphere and music selection were hyped and reminds me of the Bay Area. All the staffs were friendly and were able to speak English very well. Long helped me and was very friendly. He gave me recommendations for drinks and also places and things to do for my trip in Vietnam. And afterwards we just conversate about our lives.

I ordered a Healing Portion cocktail and a large draft Tiger beer. The price was reasonable so the drinks were good. Long also gave me a sample of a hibiscus cocktail drink that he created.

I noticed that the staffs would go and make conversation with all their customers, even those there alone by themselves, to make them feel more comfortable and have a great time here. You can tell they do enjoy being there. I do appreciate that all the staffs would go above and beyond for their customers. Definitely a great place to come and chill.

I originally just planned to have one drink and head back to the hotel to rest. Since it was a Monday night, there were only me and one other guest. Before long, I was the only one left. The staff seemed to really enjoy the music and atmosphere there, while I was surprised to hear Vietnamese hip-hop music playing. These past few days, I’ve noticed most places play Chinese or English songs — Vietnamese music hasn’t been that common. As I was enjoying the music, a girl next to me started chatting with me. To my surprise, she ended up being the translator between me and the staff (English-Vietnamese). Then suddenly, she said: “Actually, I can speak Chinese.” That really shocked me 🤣 Hope next time I come back on a weekend and get to dance...

As someone that comes from Australia I can confidently say that this place is a great atmosphere for a drink up with your friends. The music is consistently energetic and lively and is clearly easily consumeable for anyone that is looking for a good time out.

The thing that sets this place apart besides their great original cocktail choices is the friendly and sociable staff team. Although everywhere in Danang I found there to be great service from hospitality and retail staff workers, the manager Quoc at Maad City demonstrated to me that he cares about happiness of everyone in that bar, and that the bar itself is legitemate and doesnt do anything sleazy. Props to the rest of the staff as well for being so hospitable to me...
