The Golden Lotus certainly appears Golden upon arrival; glittering white lobby, fine tile used everywhere, it's quite an nice looking hotel. Quite modern with push-button do not disturb and clean room buttons on the bedhead and illuminated panels outside the room displaying those choices, along with a doorbell. The rooms were nice enough, they had a sort of half wood-paneled theme which made them a bit dark. Our room had a titanic bed, larger than a king (two doubles pushed together I think) which I loved at first, but the bed linens were very thin and shifted quite a lot. It also left the power points on the bedhead right in the middle of the bed itself; it was very awkward to sleep with a charging phone right next to the pillow. Rooftop pool has a bar next to it, and a decent view of the city. We did have some significant negative issues here. The massive size of the bed made it difficult to find space for our luggage. The vanity around the sink was so small one toiletry bag couldn't even comfortably sit and be opened there. On the second evening, we visited the pool, and upon exiting found the rack with pool towels had disappeared, and there were no towels to be had. We asked staff for some towels, and were told that they'd run out for the day (this was at 6PM, while the pool was open until 10PM) and there were no more towels for us. We dripped back to our room, and one of our party slipped on the slick tile, wet from our lack of a towel. On checkout, we were held up for over 45 minutes while they "investigated" a "missing" robe from our room (the robe was wet, and had been bundled up with the other wet bathroom towels and collected by housekeeping already). I understand that they have to perform checks like this otherwise some people would take these things, but after I made it clear what had happened and that we had no need nor inclination to steal a $2 locally made robe, I became very irritated at the continued delay, and yet they persisted in delaying our exit. Most hotels would have thought it better to drop the issue and keep a customer, but not the...
Read moreVery disappointing experience with Manager Helen – poor service and serious mismanagement
Our group of 16 people had one of the worst tour experiences, largely due to the mismanagement and lack of accountability by Manager Helen. Initially, she was highly responsive and eager when arranging the booking, especially when it came to collecting payment—over 40 million VND in total. However, once the money was paid, things started to fall apart.
On the morning of our trip to VinWonders and Hoi An, the van that arrived could only accommodate 15 people, despite our clear booking for 16. We spent over 40 minutes trying to sort this out with Helen, during which time she claimed that due to police checks in the morning, only 15 could be taken. One member of our group had to travel separately via Grab Bike.
Later in the day, we were told that the full group of 16 could travel together from VinWonders to Hoi An in the same van. Unfortunately, the exact same issue happened again—only 15 were allowed. After more delays and confusion, the hotel and Helen again arranged for one member to go separately via Grab. This repetitive issue wasted a huge amount of our time and caused unnecessary stress.
Helen had initially promised us smooth service and assured us that all 16 would travel together. Not only did she fail to deliver on this, but she also became unresponsive at the most critical times. When we contacted her again during our return from Hoi An, the same issue occurred yet again, and we had to book a separate taxi at our own expense.
To be clear, it’s not about the taxi cost, but the repeated inconvenience, time wasted, and the complete lack of ownership or apology from Helen. She showed no accountability and simply disappeared when problems arose.
This experience ruined what was supposed to be a special day for our family. We’ve never encountered such poor customer service and broken promises during a tour. I sincerely hope the management takes this seriously, as no one else should have to go through...
Read more🌟 A Perfect Stay at Golden Lotus Da Nang — Truly Beyond Expectations! 🌟
From the moment we arrived at Golden Lotus Da Nang, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is excellent — central, convenient, and easily accessible to all the must-visit spots. There’s even a mini-market right in the lobby, which came in super handy during our stay.
What made the experience truly exceptional, though, was the incredible staff, Everyone we interacted with was kind, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. We had a few requests — extra pillows, an iron, and a room on a higher floor— and every single one was fulfilled quickly and with a smile.
A special thank you to Ruby, Edward, Helen, and especially Win (the bellboy) and Luc (our driver), who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and seamless. Their hospitality is next-level — it honestly felt like being cared for by friends.
Our stay included complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea, which felt like such a treat. The food was great, and the whole experience felt far more luxurious than the price would suggest — especially considering we booked a sea view room!
The room itself was cozy, modern, and spotless— exactly what I look for when booking accommodations. The shower had great water pressure, and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches: free slippers, bottled water, coffee, tea, and all the essentials provided throughout our stay.
For those who like to stay active, the hotel also has a fitness center, perfect if you don’t want to skip your workout while traveling. And don’t miss the rooftop area— it’s a beautiful spot to unwind and take in the Da Nang skyline.
If I ever return to Da Nang (and I hope I do!), I’ll absolutely book Golden Lotus Da Nang again. I loved everything about this stay — it was truly a 10/10 experience.
The only sad part is… we can’t stay here forever. 😭 Thank you for everything,...
