We were recommended to try this restaurant by my friend's mother-in-law who had visited 3 times before and said that it was really good. I emailed direct and asked to book a table for our Silver Wedding Anniversary and the date and time. Linh-the vietnamese manage emailed back saying that they would be happy to accommodate us and looking forward to seeing us on the evening. Wow, wow, wow, we got there to a lovely welcome by Linh with two glasses of sparkly and saying congratulations and you have a choice of two tables. We sat down and absolutely loved the atmosphere in this very cosy bar and loved the ambience of the place and the staff and Linh who was absolutely superb. We were bought some complimentary tapas which were delicious and we also ordered the tomato bread which I highly recommend as it was delicious. I ordered a blackberry mojito as previous reviews had said that this was lovely and again I was not disappointed, it was beautiful. For mains, I had roast pork and my husband had the beef cheeks which were both stunning and would have again. For deserts we had the chocolate trio and the fruit cheesecake, both lovely and then we finished off with shots which Linh bought over to us at the end with our bill. Thank you mr manager and all the staff at La Salsa for making our anniversary truly special and you have a fantastic business and we will definitely be back again next time we come to Hanoi. In fact we loved it so much, that we re-booked there and then to go back again on our last night in Hanoi and again had another amazing experience with the food, drinks, ambience etc and it really did make our holiday. Hope this helps and I definitely feel that this bar should be no 1 in Spanish food around Hanoi as it truly is a great place to go and eat and enjoy the wonderful food, atmosphere and very...
Read moreComing back after awhile and was so dissapointed about the service. I chose an outdoor table for our wedding anniversary since it was my fav place. But the experience tonight was what I never expected! First, no one serve outdoor area, we had to get inside to call someone to order. Second, after having main course, we wanted to order a dessert and told a girl to give us the menu, she said "yes" but no menu came up after 30 mins of waiting!! Finally, I asked for the bill and the survey to rate the service, the manager said that they don't have it and asked me to share with him. I told him the whole story and he said "i think it is not a big deal and that girl might forget the request because their system was overloaded" ....what????? I looked at her eyes and asked for the menu, she said YES!! what'wrong with the system here?? I told her face to face, man!!? If you want to fool someone, please use a wiser reason so that I can fool myself to accept it! The thing that I could't accept was "i think it is not a big deal..." :) Gosh... speechless.
I loved this place before and the old service, not the current one, the new manager is so bad. Because of the service and the way he handled this case, I will never visit La Salsa Xuan Dieu again :) p/s: That guy didn't care if customer would come back or not :))) I saw that attitude on his face when he said "ok" and brought the...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER I have been to over 10 restaurants around the West Lake in Hanoi. They were all amazing with good service and great food, except for this one (and Hanoi Taco Bar too ~ for 2 people - $30-40 - food was okay but the manager was horrible at time management)
I must say the food and the service here is extremely terrible compared to the price we have to pay (~$60). 3 pieces of bread cost us nearly $3?
When we entered the restaurant, we were really confused about where to park. When we got into the restaurant, no one welcomed us. We just sat down and did not see any signs of the waiters. A waitress brought us a menu after around 3-5 minutes.
The waitress is unable to articulate well, she mumbles!!!!!. She didn't say anything when giving us the menu. She took the order and did not know anything about the menu. No recommendations at all.
The food is bland and tastes yucky! It is flavorless! We ordered soups & bread for starters. Around ~$13 total and it was not worth it. It was not hot. It was lukewarm??? Ughhhhh
The main course was horrible. The paella was such a disappointment. It tastes like rice soaked in water and oil? Flavorless again!
The only bright side of this 25-year restaurant is the atmosphere and the vibe it offers. It is spacious and comfy.
Food: 1/10 Drinks - we ordered coke so no marks for this Service:...
