I have to report about a very traumatizing experience a friend (they don’t feel like doing this themselves so I am doing it for them) had last week at this cafe. The guard on duty snapped at her, verbally abused her, including very offensive slurs, and displayed very aggressive behavior. The staff my friend called from inside to avoid language misunderstanding did not help translating and did not say sorry about the unacceptable behavior. Management was contacted and in spite of the initial promises to not accept abusive behavior by their staff, the response was dismissive, that the guard was just reacting to whatever did not fly well with him and the cafe could no longer serve my friend. The manager has been invited to have a more constructive dialogue and follow basic customer care principles, but there has been no further reply. I will never set foot here again, my friend neither and I recommend not falling for face level “politeness” of the staff there. They have managed the episode of verbal attack by their guard towards a long term customer in a despicable way, that shows they protect abuse by their staff. That behavior should have just been reprehended and the customer reassured that it would never happen again. Easy. But they chose otherwise. Coffee may be decent but this response was...
Read moreThis café is a nice choice for locals looking for a quiet yet practical place to work or chat. While the parking area is on the smaller side, there’s a security guard who helps you find a spot. The staff are polite, though they could be a bit more welcoming, and the second floor is spacious with enough room to get tasks done. Around lunchtime, there can be a faint food smell since some customers order bread or cake, but it’s not a major drawback. The café seems to attract more foreign guests than Vietnamese patrons, and the inside is usually calm and relaxed, making for a pleasant change of pace compared to other coffee shops in Vietnam. There’s a good selection of drinks on the menu, and they even sell their own coffee beans, which I’ve heard are quite decent. While I haven’t visited other branches, this particular location is pretty good and definitely...
Read moreExcellent coffee and communicative service in English and Vietnamese make this place good option for both travellers and locals. Try the homemade confections as well. I ordered a Bat Trang mug wrapped for a friend's birthday and they had it ready in minutes and without any disposable plastic. Not only do they have a wide range of a really good craft beer they also have very good rest in the styled coffee. The egg coffee is an absolute must. Aside from the great coffee they also have one of the best views in Hanoi. If you want a place to look at the lake and enjoy a good tasty beverage this is the...
