### Restaurant Review: Salmonoid Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, Salmonoid quickly became my go-to spot for my first meal in the city. The restaurant offers a delightful brunch experience, allowing diners to choose a main course while enjoying free-flow orders of a variety of salmon dishes. This unique approach not only showcases the versatility of salmon but also ensures a beautifully paced dining experience. For my main course, I opted for the salmon, and it did not disappoint. The skin was perfectly crispy, while the inside remained beautifully medium-rare, creating a delightful contrast in textures. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and attention to detail. What made the experience even more memorable was the exceptional service from our waiter, P. Quang. His warm hospitality and thorough explanations of the menu added a personal touch to the meal. He even took the time to teach me some Vietnamese phrases, which made the experience feel even more immersive. Overall, my visit to Salmonoid was unforgettable. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a highlight of my trip. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to indulge in exquisite salmon dishes while exploring the culinary scene in Hanoi.

Went for dinner on4/7, a bit disappointing be honest, the food was very average compared with the price, Set menu - salad with fig and avocado 🥑paste was the most delicious, main course was beef with salmon and side dish was Potato with bean green paste, the paste was cold and oily, salmon and beef are ok , but also felt as premade and just throw on the plate. Dessert was the same deal , can’t really say was worth the money or time Most horrible part was the service, keep rushing us to collect our plate when my partner wasn’t even finish his salad, then rushing to bring the main course, that also appear on keep poring to much wine for us ,the restaurant wasn’t fully seated, there was no need to rush anything AT ALL They had violin 🎻 section for the night but it starts from the balcony, when my partner ask can we bring our drink outside ,they rejected and say we have to order more food to go outside when we already had two set meal and bottle of wine , total nonsense. And the waiter with better English skill came when we ready to leave and tell us the performance will be inside when 8pm , but it’s too late for us. Very good decor of the place but poor service and food

The overall environment and vibe are great, perfect for people who love taking Instagram-worthy photos (though I care more about service details and how good the food is). What surprised me, though, was that they didn’t offer water. I ordered the Jingle Twinkle Platter, and the bread came with just 4 small pieces (only about the width of two fingers). The waiter didn’t mention if we could get a refill, and I didn’t feel like asking, so we just ate the remaining jam and ham on their own. The mulled wine was packed with cinnamon and other spices, which I liked, but it was way too sweet! The salmon and steak were just average, nothing special, and the wagyu was the same. My friend ordered Angus steak medium, but it came more like medium-well. Fortunately, it still tasted okay. The side of mashed potatoes was really good, though! That was definitely a highlight for me. I had the pan-seared salmon cooked medium, and it didn’t wow me. The apple and potatoes side was refreshing. Overall, the experience felt a bit lacking for me.

This is a hidden gem that the wife and I stumbled across. It is upscale, yet affordable. We were lucky enough to dine here with no reservation. Quong did a good job taking care of us while the restaurant got progressively busier. It seemed as if some of our dishes were made and sat in the window before being served to us which led to lackluster textures and temperatures, and the feeling of being rushed through courses despite being the first table sat at 5:50. I uploaded a picture of the menu details. We chose the most expensive of the 3 menus. Mozz salad 5/5 creative, tasty Chestnut soup 3/5 texture, flavor miss Salmon ice cream cones 5/5 loved it Foie gras 4/5 good but soggy bread Baked oysters 5/5 amazing!! Steak 5/5 delicious and tender Pasta 3/5 needed more salmon/prawn Desserts 2/5 easy to leave w/o finishing We will definitely be back in the future. Thanks!!

Great ambience, romantic, and very suitable for couples. We ordered the Raclette, Spicy and Sour Soup, Spaghetti with Salmon, Angus Ribeye Medium Rare. Raclette was great in the beginning before the cheese hardens, afterwards it becomes really salty. Especially with all the smoked meats and salmon. It goes really well with the potatoes though. Spicy and Sour Soup, comes with Salmon and mushrooms, was OK, taste similar to Tom Yum soup from the Thai cuisine. Spaghetti with Salmon, spaghetti was ok, smoked salmon was salty. Ribeye was good, comes with mash potatoes, sautéed oyster mushrooms and assorted vegetables. Would have been a great experience if it's was less salty. Could be a lot better for the price.
