Som Tum Thai - Vincom Metropolis — Restaurant in Hà Nội

Friday evening. We arrived at 7:40 and seated promptly and were given a menu. Almost immediately a staff member placed a mocktail on our table without saying a word and walked away. we needed to shout for her to return. We explained we hadn't ordered anything drinks yet but would like to. She wordlessly took the drink away and gave it to a customer at another table - I guess assuming we didn't take a sip 😕. She, nor any other staff, did not return to our table to take our order. After waiting 5 minutes we called a passing staff member to take our order at 7:50. We ordered 3 things, chicken satay, pad Thai and a vermicelli salad plus a couple of drinks. Drinks arrived in 8 minutes. The drinks were fine. A couple of minutes later the chicken satay arrived. The chicken was somewhat warm. Clearly had sat on a counter in the kitchen for some time until delivered to our table. The chicken itself was moist and the Satay sauce was good. Another 5 minutes later the pad Thai arrived. We checked immediately to ensure it was in fact hot, it was reasonably warm. The three prawns were over cooked and dry. The Pad Thai was very average flavour and a small portion. After another 5 minutes we stopped a staff member to ask where our 3rd dish was, the vermicelli salad. That staff member left and sometime later returned to tell us it would be 8 minutes more, can we wait? "No" was our immediate answer. Another staff member came to our table and said 1 word: "cancel?". We answered with an emphatic "yes" and asked for the bill. After waiting for another few minutes, we asked another staff member "do we have a bill". She wordlessly turned to the POS machine behind her, printed the bill and took it to another member of staff at the reception counter and then returned to our table with a payment machine and asked how would we like to pay. At no time did anyone apologize for the delay and for losing our vermicelli salad order. The service here is totally chaotic. We interacted with at least 5 different staff members. Every step of the service process was very poorly executed. The food is nowhere near good enough to overlook the poor service. There are a number of decent dining options in this mall. Do yourself a favour and choose any of those...

ALERT: Avoid this restaurant or prepare yourself for such pathetic service that it will leave you promising yourself never to return!

A complete comedy of errors but, astoundingly, a carbon copy of numerous previous reviews of this place over the course of months (if not longer). That in itself should be testament enough that nothing is being done to remedy the situation - short of issuing generic meaningless “apologies.” Delayed and incomplete food orders, staff practising relays (speak to one and they disappear and someone else shows up, also with no clue), lukewarm food, etc. etc. Asking to a manager took 3 tries and 15 minutes, only for a young woman to show up who (very obviously) is not experienced, skilled or empowered enough to make a difference.

On a “positive” note you can be assured that the check is presented promptly - and without any sort of adjustment for a mediocre and lukewarm meal served...

Mình không rõ là vì lí do chủ quan của bản thân k đặt trước bàn, hay quán đông mà thực sự có một trải nghiệm quá tệ luôn á. rồi mãi sau vào đọc review mới thấy có người giống mình, mình vẫn đang phân vân không biết có nên quay lại lần 2 gọi những món khác hay không hay là sang cơ sở khác, vì cơ sở bên này bất ổn thật sự ạ. Bọn mình tới lúc 7r hết bàn nên đợi 15p sau mới sắp xếp đc bàn, bên lễ tân có báo nhân viên setup lại bàn cho bọn mình ngồi 3 người, mà đũa thì không bày, không dĩa k thìa gì luôn, vì vừa có khách ăn xong nên mình k rõ là vì gì mà thiếu đồ, khăn giấy nữa :( trên bàn chỉ có mỗi đĩa ăn, sau đấy od xong là 8h kém 5p 10p gì k rõ, 3 người ngồi đợi tới 8h20 mình thấy lâu quá mới hỏi bạn nhân viên đồ lên lâu thế thì cũng đc trả lời thời gian ra đồ từ 25-30p anh chụ vui lòng đợi, uk thì cũng đợi thôi, mang ra được đúng đồ uống trước địa nộm xoài và gà bọc dứa được đĩa 5 miếng, chả biết ai ăn ai đừng nên bọn mình ngồi cố đợi đủ đồ r ăn, nhưng không ạ, đồ lên quá lâu, tiếp theo món lẩu thái hải sản gọi lên, được đúng 4 con tôm, vài miếng mực, một tia ngao, mình thấy nước lạnh ngắt, cộng 1 đĩa rau muống trần sơ chưa chín kỹ, thì các bạn nhân viên kêu "đồ chín hết r bọn em chỉ giữ ấm lên thôi ạ" nhưng khổ nỗi mình thấy nếu nó k sôi thì giữ ấm kiểu gì, nhúng rau vào ăn đúng kiểu chỗ nào chín vẫn chín chỗ nào sống thì thêm nước lẩu thôi ấy, mình k bàn về gia vị vì thấy hơi nhạt và chỉ thấy cay 😂 xong tiếp mãi mới ra những món tiếp theo, thấy đồ nào cũng ít cho nên là bọn mình mới sốt ruột gọi thêm đồ k sợ đóng bếp, ôi trời ơi, gọi 2-3 lần k ai ra order cho, xong lúc sau ăn no quá trời rồi kêu tính tiền thanh toán mới lên tiếp những đồ còn lại, nhân viên k báo với mình xem đồ của anh chị còn những gì, gọi 5 lần 7 lượt cũng không có ai tính bill cho, lúc gọi thêm đũa thìa cũng zị, ngồi nói chuyện mãi mới nhớ k có đũa thìa ăn, lúc sau chuẩn bị thanh toán rồi bạn nhân viên mới mang đồ tráng miệng ra, thế là đành phải mang về ạ, mình chưa bang về khẩu vị nhưng thực sự cái trải nghiệm này k mấy tốt đẹp cho lắm, nếu các bạn chọn có thể cân nhắc cơ sở khác. Lúc bọn mình thanh toán r, trong hoá đơn có hiện 1 củ quả ăn kèm, nhưng bọn mình không biết và được báo là không có đồ đi kèm đâu, thế xong thì lúc sau mình kêu k có cái đó trong hoá đơn thì bạn ý kêu quên mang ra, k biết là lúc thanh toán có tính vào thật k nữa vì lúc ấy vội về r cũng k để ý, được cái tomyum ngon, nhưng nếu bảo tôm tươi thì k có tươi nha, ăn bở vụn lắm nhé :)) đồ ăn k tới nỗi tệ trừ cái món lẩu ra thì mọi thứ cũng oke ạ, chả tôm chả mực ngon, chiên nóng, mềm, thấy...
