I don't understand why Sum bread is so stingy. I'm traveling for the experience, and there are two shops nearby Sun and Sai Gon where I saw a lot of people eating, so I decided to try Sum. The bread looked ordinary and it was so greasy that even the bag was soaked. I asked for a bit of pate sauce, but the older lady at the counter said I’d have to pay extra because prices are high now. The way she spoke was rude, like those unpleasant older women. If the food is expensive she could have said it differently or just stayed silent but I don’t think adding a little bit would have been a problem. It was disappointing. The staff are very attentive to guests and seem very well-organized in the way they make their food. The prices here are very reasonable and when you consider the high quality of the bread and meat as well as the fact that they will add more meat to your sandwich than most places, it's well worth your money. Where we live, we get to eat a lot of Bahn Mi, and we can both easily say this was better than any we've had before.
The fresh fruit drinks were wonderful (no sugar added) - we had watermelon and cucumber.
