The VEG BÁNH MÌ at Ancient Remedy is on another level. Like… CRAZY good. 🤯

It’s not just a sandwich, it’s an experience. The bread? Perfect. The filling? Juicy, full, absolutely packed with flavor. No dryness. None. Just layers of mushrooms, some kind of tofu that’s so well-done it’s almost unreal… I couldn’t even believe this was vegetarian. Honestly, this might be the best bánh mì I’ve ever had (and probably ever will have). Vegetarian versions are usually the hardest to get right but they nailed it. Totally blew me away.

And the vibe here? 🔥🔥🔥

The first guy I met was LONG (which also means “dragon” in Vietnamese 🐉) absolute legend. Super friendly, super smiley, cleared the exact table I wanted, and just gave me the kind of service that makes you feel really taken care of. Pure good energy.

Then came AN (which also means light in Vietnamese) while I was eating another awesome guy. I asked about Vietnamese words and both of them stood there, patiently teaching me with so much kindness and laughter. Honestly, it felt like hanging out with friends, not just staff.

And then… there’s STAN. What a soul. After my meal I had the chance to talk with him, and honestly, he’s one of the purest people I’ve met in Vietnam. He’s been making music for more than 33 years, mastered about 15 instruments, and his saxophone playing is just unreal. He performs here every evening from around 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and trust me, you need to experience it. Even if you don’t want food, just come, grab a tea a drink or something off the menu, and let the music and the energy sink in.

This place isn’t just a restaurant. It’s full of real people, real smiles, real soul. Nothing fake just genuine warmth. You can feel they truly wish you the best.

👉 I’ve been pretty disappointed with food around Hoi An Old Town lots of touristy places that don’t hit. But THIS spot? THIS IS THE PLACE. My go-to now. I’ll be back every single day while I’m here.

I adore this place it’s my favorite in Hoi An. I stumbled across it by accident not by accident. Then I realized I left my credit cards at hotel and only had 100k dong after ordering about 200k.

The owner or manager Tam was so nice and right away said her name was sweetheart 😂 and has a beautiful energy. Her team and Truong always so kind. It’s already my third time here.

She easily solved the problem by mentioning they have Apple Pay and it was my first time using it 😂 in vietnam! Thankfully I had added my cards to my wallet 🪪 on my phone 📱

I love their menu with them making me coconut coffee hot off menu, vegetarian mushroom Bun bao, stir fry greens, chicken and tofu dishes

They play relaxing music at night and sometimes even live music with sax one night heard...

I was so glad to find this place on our first day. They also had vegetarian and vegan sections for us and the taste of the food was the best in all of restaurants we tried in Vietnam. So this became our place everyday during our stay and tried everything they had for vegetarians. Their brownie was the best as well. The servers were the sweetest and friendliest . My is the name of one of the servers who was such a joy to talk to and gave us great service. Prices were very reasonable for such good quality food and ambience. It was super clean as well and it seems like owner takes great pride in their recipes and was very authentic. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are worried about taste, quality...
