I'd booked this hotel to get out of the hostel for a night's sleep. It was fairly budget and right in the market, so I had low expectations. I can assure you these expectations were kept. As soon as I got into my room, I could smell mould. Upon closer inspection, there was visable evidence in darn near every corner of the room. I tried opening the window, but started to feel it in my chest regardless. After having rinsing myself off in the classic Vietnamese bathroom-is-shower, I found the mould-motherload and noticed there was zero ventilation. At this point, I decided to go downstairs and request a room change. A quick inspection lead to them offering me the empty, mould-free, king suite. If it sounds fancy, it wasn't. Good thing I insisted on giving them a copy rather than the real thing. I moved the barometer from Poor to Average in this case because of their willingness to remedy the situation, however, I probably wouldn't choose this as your...
Read moreDespite the unkind reviews, I still proceeded to book a night with this little hotel. The main reason being, we were running out of options as we were arriving on NYE. The biggest mistake and this is the one time I should trust my fellow reviewers. The room was well sized however there was a damp stench throughout the room which made it extremely uncomfortable to stay in the room for long. This didn't seem to bother at first as we were keen to get out and explore Hoi An. After a long day trekking on foot we got back to our room and this is where the nightmare began. Our mattress and towels provided were all damp. The sheets and pillows smelt like wet clothes. The mink blanket provided smelt like dirty socks that have been worn for weeks, unwashed. The bathroom tap was falling apart. The AC let out a foul smell when switched on. Power points did not work. No hairdryer or kettle provided. And we were attacked by mosquitoes all night. Overall, I strongly suggest that people do not book at this establishment not unless you are wanting a terrible stay in this...
