Brought a couple friends here because this place is Michelin recommended. I tried to order half the menu and about half of it they said they ran out of. Whatever food they did bring out was small and expensive for Vietnam standards. Our 4 tiny plates costs 400k and I had to order from vendors around because the food took so long to come.
We came there, waited like 10 minutes watching everyone seated one by one while we got ignored. Then we came to sit at the table. Everything we wanted was gone. I had to settle for whatever they had. Then it takes 20 minutes to get each specific plates. I had to call them over to get our food. Honestly an absolutely horrible dining experience. They got greedy and expanded without the staff or the equipment to take more volume. One of the worst experience I’ve ever had in Vietnam
The worst part of all this is my friend is deathly allergic to peanuts and I specifically said no peanuts. Got a plate(in pic) that clearly has peanuts. At this point I thank the gods that I spotted it and didn’t let my...
Read moreIt is a decent ốc place if you want to eat at a popular one in Saigon, then yeah it’s ok since it’s on the Michelin guide. I will say, there are way way way more ốc places, and some of them are way better than this place.
Price. Very expensive compared to most places. Most dishes are 100k vnd, but portion sizes are quite little. For instance, you get like 6 scallops or 4 oysters for 100k. They also don’t use the best quality or size of snails in their dishes if that makes sense. Like the squid teeth are very small like they’re supposed to be bigger if you have eaten them before. Some other snails are very small too.
Food. Fine, nothing special. You can find better for better pricing.
Service. Quite slow. Fine but a little slow.
Atmosphere. Very crowded like a typical ốc place. It is not clean, and there would be trash and bugs around but that’s just the normal vibe.
Overall, it’s not extremely bad. But just know that locals don’t go here because it’s not that great and the price is like...
Read moreWe came here as it is very popular and has Michelin status, but left extremely disappointed.
It took around 10 mins to get seated and once seated we ordered the food, we only ordered 4 dishes, and that took like 45 mins to get our food. It's so bad people order the food from the sellers walking around as appetizers.
We had the razor clams which were actually really good. The cheese oysters were good, not the best I ever had but ok. The other clam dish we got was very chewy and overcooked. And lastly the grilled shrimp on a stick was decent as well.
Unfortunately most of their items were sold out so we couldn't really choose the dishes we wanted to eat.
Getting the check took another like 10 mins. The staff there are so busy it's hard to get service especially if you are a foreigner.
I would skip this place altogether and just go get sea food and snails somewhere else. It be better service, food,...
