Great French food, with a lower cost! If you are looking for affordably priced French food, I'd totally suggest this place :)
Appetisers: •Complementary olive bread, came with butter - this was good, a little too dense for my liking, but the rest enjoyed their bread. •French onion soup - i'd caution against getting this, it didn't have the Onion Caramelised taste that a french onion soup should have. A little disappointing. •Mushroom soup - thick and creamy. •Pumpkin soup - if you're not a fan of Cinnamon, you can avoid this option, the Cinnamon taste is quite strong.
Mains: •Duck confit - it was very tender, enjoyed the pumpkin mash that accompanied the duck meat really well. •Chicken breast served with Mushroom sauce and Sauteed vegetables - this was good, chicken breast was cooked well, tasted closer to chicken thigh, it was that tender. •Pasta - we ordered the tomato and carbonara base pastas, they were both hand-made (I believe so). •Beef & potato wedges - seasoned well, enjoyed this and wished there was more (set meal served food sizes that were really small).
Desserts: •Frozen cheesecake served with berries - honestly thought that this would be a typical frozen cheesecake kind of thing, but it was surprisingly good. It was light-tasting and the biscuits at the bottom were not too buttery/oily. •Creme brulee - grateful that it wasn't overly sweet, top was...

The menu at Chef Thiện French Bistro boasts a delectable selection of French-inspired dishes, and I've had the pleasure of trying two standout items. The Free Range Duck Breast with Mashed Broccoli was a true delight, with the tender and flavorful duck complemented perfectly by the creamy mashed broccoli. The BBQ Phan Thiet Sword Fish with Ratatouille was another highlight, showcasing the chef's skill in blending Vietnamese and French flavors.
The ambiance of the restaurant is equally impressive, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The free WiFi is an added bonus, making it a convenient spot for those who need to stay connected while enjoying their meal.

Read moreWe walked past the little alley way on Pasteur street, saw the sign for french bistro and got intrigued. After checking the menu and talking to the charming owner / chef a bit, we decided to go in for a dinner. The restuarant had only been open for 2 weeks, so we went it with an open mindset and we were plesently surprised!!
For starters we had french onion soup, which had a rich and deep taste with a nice cheese lid. Really good! For mains we had perfectly prepared duck confit, swordfish, pan fried sea bass and australian tenderloin. All of us were really impressed by the well prepared and tasty dishes. The owner/chef explained that he had worked 15 years in 5 star hotels, so no wonder he could cook!
The entire staff were really charming and service minded. We felt they were very new to the restaurant buslness and probably just need sbome time to get more knowledge about wines etc. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 - I'm sure that in a few weeks things will become even better.
Hopefully they will include some of the wine recommenations we provided 😊
All and all, I can really recommend going to Chef Thien French Bistro - charming, welcoming and great food for...
