This is a hidden gem in the city. Located on the second floor of a residential building that you need to access via a garage with 40 motorbikes and a tiny stairway. This is probably the best Poke I have had.
You start the same way as most places by stating your base. I and my buddy picked 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 greens. I then picked my protein as octopus and shrimp while my buddy did double salmon.
We then got to salad bar section and we were blown away. This was like a Subway on double steroids as seen in my pictures. There was quail eggs, Japanese radish, guacamole, corn, pineapple, mushrooms, olives, edamame, Kani crab flakes, shisho leaves, sesame seeds, Nori flakes aside from the standard green, purple and curly lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, spinach, bell peppers and various hot peppers.
I had all the toppings on mine and my bowl weighed in at over a pound. My buddy was a bit reserved and only had standard salad fare with guacamole.
Did I also tell you that after I finished the Poke server asked if I wanted a free refill of the salad toppings. Now I see why this restaurant has a non-stop delivery business and is rated #5 of all restaurants in Saigon on...
Read moreI struggle with how anyone could give this less than 5 stars. It is great food at a great price with friendly service. You pick whether you want salad, rice or brown rice or mix for a base. You pick 2 seafood, and any mix of other fresh ingredients you want, and sauces to top it off. The flavors were a delight and everything was so fresh. It was incredible. For me I chose a mix salad and rice with spicy tuna, spicy salmon, cucumber, edamame, hot peppers, seaweed, pomegranate, dried seaweed, ginger and topped with spicy sauce and sesame. It was so incredible. My wife selected among less spicy ingredients and loved hers as well. The bowl were more than enough to fulfill a hearty appetite, but you would be hard pressed to leave anything uneaten as the flavors are so good. The 2 bowls along with a buy one get one beer special and a sprite came to 425K VND (about $18.40). We were stuffed and happy when we left. I would highly recommend this place and will certainly be back. Make sure to ask for an extra empty bowl so you can mix things together more as the bowl is so full you cant possibly mix it in...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Poke Saigon at Ly Tu Trong st. The restaurant is located on the second floor of an old apartment building, and even though you have to walk upstairs, the experience is definitely worth it. The space inside is beautifully designed, airy, and much more spacious compared to Nguyen Hue st. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options, so you can choose based on your preference.
The atmosphere is clean and fresh, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. One of the highlights of Poke is that it’s a healthy restaurant. The portions are carefully measured and well-balanced, which makes you feel good about what you’re eating. Everything is served with attention to detail, from presentation to portion size.
The only downside I found was that they don’t serve ice with drinks, which is something I hope they’ll consider adding to the menu in the future. Overall, I had a great experience at Poke Saigon and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious, healthy meal in a beautiful setting. I’d give...
