Jollibee Saigonstar — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

We have Jollibee in my home country and it seems popular, there isn't one close to where I live and I had been wanting to try it.

Now I'm visiting Saigon and I found out that there is one close to my hotel so I decided to try it out. I went to the order counter, decided what I wanted, I was waiting to place my order but the order taker didn't seem too interested, when he finally looked like he was ready I started to tell him what I wanted, he became distracted with something else. He looked my way again, I asked him if he was ready, he said yes so I began again. I ordered the Ga Gion Cay set which includes a drink and fries. I asked for Pepsi.

I paid and was was given a number to place on my table. I took a seat and waited.

My order was brought over and I noticed that instead of Pepsi I had been given Orange Fanta, I guess the order taker wasn't paying attention, I also noticed something floating in my drink, I pulled it out, it was a long green strip of plastic that was attached to an ice cube, I guess the person making the drink wasn't paying attention.

I tried the chicken and to my surprise there was nothing special about it at all, it was rather bland, I've had chicken from street vendors that tastes better than this Jollibee stuff.

Much to my surprise in my visit to Ho Chi Minh City, we passed by one of the Jollibee stores. Jollibee is the most loved fast-food chain in the Philippines well-known for its crispy and juicy Chicken Joy. True enough when it expanded outside the Philippines it was well received in different parts of the world. In this particular store I noticed a lot of Vietnamese locals eating. Curious about how the food tasted we tried the chicken and spaghetti which is unique with its very sweet tomato sauce. And the Filipino in me may be feeling a little proud seeing how it kept the original flavor in it yet adding a little touch of Vietnam with the addition of vegetables on the side. Truly amazed. Stupid staff! We’ve been to many Jollibee around Saigon for the past 2 years and here is the only shop that doesn’t apply the “COMBO” or maybe they are just completely clueless. Ordered a separate order of chicken and spaghetti but served the combo in which the spaghetti is like for 1 year old child. Funny idiots! Even served tge wrong rice which is supposed to be a garlic rice. After a long explanation of order, tye staff just said “yes” with a face that undedstood everything only to end up in a completely wrong order! Went to ask why they gave the wrong order and just said he said “NO MORE” when in fact he said “okay” and “yes” the while time! ANNOYING AND RIDICULOUS!
