Kohaku Sashimi & Yakiniku — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I recently visited Kohaku Yakiniku at Landmark 81, and I have to say, the experience was great! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service provided by Son- the waiter and Tran- the shift manager truly stood out.

A big shoutout to Son, our waiter, who was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect. I also want to thank Tran, the shift manager, for going above and beyond. Their quick thinking and willingness to help really impressed me.

The food itself was fantastic. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal.

If I could make one suggestion to the head management- Mr/Ms Tam, it would be to give more recognition to amazing staff like Tran and Son. They truly go the extra mile and are a big part of what makes this restaurant so great.

The food is ok. The ingredient is fresh. The presentation is also great. Service is also good.

However, some sashimi cuts are not good, for example, we ordered the mix sushi and sashimi plate but some sashimi cuts are quite disappointing because they get chewy due to not experienced cut. We also ordered fatty tuna (our favorite sashimi dish that we have tried several times before) and the experience is disappointing actually because the pieces still have chewy string in them, it really brings down the whole “fatty tuna experience”. The service was unhelpful and food not like the menu. Specifically, they added mayonnaise to an item that should not have. When I pointed it out to the staff, they argued that the menu does show it… like we were not looking at the exact same image. When, I showed her, she just told me to eat the food with mayonnaise. This was a very disappointing experience for a restaurant that charges premium prices, promising premium quality. I would not recommend eating here.
