I first tried La Viet coffee in Da Lat from a local's recommendation. I was immediately hooked for the rest of my trip there, so naturally sought out the HCMC branches.
The coffee is of a really high quality, but even more importantly, the staff really know what they are doing. I haven't tried the various types of filter or drip coffee, but their espresso based drinks are pretty much perfect.
The espresso is drawn through beautifully and has an excellent crema on top, then the milk is textured perfectly and every cup I've had from here has excellent latte art on top.
They also sell their own coffee beans which are excellent for making a cup of coffee at home, although it is possibly better to entrust the brewing to the professionals at La Viet as you'll need a lot of practice and some excellent equipment to compete with their end product.
The interior design of the store is also very nice. It has a minimalist approach with framed coffee beans on the wall and stylish furniture. You won't find any sofas to relax on, but the chairs are pretty comfortable and the tables are a perfect height for working on (unlike many other coffee shops were tables just come up to your knees). The music is tasteful and never too loud or intrusive.
Would highly recommend if you want seriously good artisan coffee in a place where people care about what they produce. Also great for getting some work done or meeting up with friends.

Read moreThese guys know their stuff for sure. This isn't just any regular coffeshop, they're part of a company that actually produces and roasts their own coffee. ☕ You can tell they're very passionate about it, not just fixing drinks. You can ask them specific questions. They will meticulously make each coffee according to each customer. The staff is really nice and professional. The place is well decorated although totally hidden from the public eye. The parking lot is tiny but even if it's full, don't worry they'll find a solution so you can enjoy yourself. Plus they obviously sell their different types of coffee beans and at a reasonable price. Westerners will most likely identify with the A/romatic or D/ark...

What I dont like is that they sell RTD juice, not fresh one. Water is served for free -parking: free Highly recommend for ones who seek space for study, group work and meeting (but not so big team, around 10-15...
