Tl;dr Come here if you want to experience racism! This is not the usual Vietnamese hospitality so it was truly disappointing to see. While the staff were polite it seemed the manager had some other motives.
When we arrived for our reservation the manager guided us to a table to be seated and we had a few minutes to settle in. But it seemed like she clearly had a problem with who we were at this point and we were told that the table (that she guided us to) was already reserved by someone else. She then moved us to the opposite corner of the restaurant where there was little ventilation, a broken light and far removed from the main dining area.
We also reserved a table so why move us if we were already here? Somehow the original table you brought us to is now reserved for someone else?
Shoved aside we began to notice the table we were escorted away from was still empty as time went on. Only until about an hour later was that table seated with the kind of customer they wanted there. When confronted the manager could only respond with empty excuses and a half-baked apology. Regardless of their intentions the damage was done and it just fell far below all of our other restaurant experiences here.
You'll find better food, service and atmosphere elsewhere - Vietnam is filled with many great restaurants and friendly people, go spend your time and money at other restaurants instead and save yourself from potential...
Read moreRacists towards other Asians. (Edit: in response to the reply. being Asian yourself does not make you incapable of discrimination. We were already shown to our table and was SITTING before we were asked to move, so the argument that you did not know our nationality in advance is worse, as you changed our table only after you saw us. You moved the only Chinese family to the back so that your dining room can appear all European. Do not make any more excuses. Lies do not become you. Do better.
After they sat my family at a decent table in the main dining area, they asked us to move again because they claimed another family booked the table. They moved us to a dark corner where the AC does not reach, and is full of mosquitoes, and the light is broken. When we commented about our dissatisfaction with the table, they kept saying that the other family already booked, which is an excuse because we booked in advanced as well. There were also multiple tables available in the main area.
By the time we decided to comment, we were already almost done our food and the other family still have yet to arrive. As the other tables arrive, it was clear they overbooked the location, then decided to move the Asian family over to the dark corner in favor of the Western families. The manager decided to offer us 50% off drinks for the inconvenience, however, I am not here for a discount. I am willing to pay good money for...
Read moreThis place has a waitress lady who treats western customers so well but treat Asians poorly. Specifically Asians who don't dress up fancy or come by a car.
The moment we came in she already was not friendly. She brought menu without saying anything, no smile, just like a robot. maybe she judged us because we came here by motorbike and don't dress up like other western tourists :) After us, the western couple came in and Wow, she was completely different attitude towards them. Explain the menu, smiling, chitchatting etc
She treats customers based on her impressions that if customers "look" wealthy or not. (ah she treated VN customer same as other western because they came by car 😂)
Seeing Asians being racist towards Asians is so pathetic.
P. S. To the person who called me a loser, you were not there when we came in so it's not your place to say I'm being victim etc. You Were Not There. You can support your friend and I deleted a Pic because I agree posting pic wasn't right thing so apologize to waitress lady for that. But I won't change my opinion here, it's none of my business you guys are close friends of known long time. I wrote a review based on MY experience as a customer there. And I felt I wasn't welcomed and I dont appreciate when I witnessed she can smile and be friendly to...
