We stayed at the Sheraton Saigon and for our last night, we decided to dine in since we were just exhausted. We went to Li Bai, not expecting much as you never know hotel restaurants can either blow you away or severely disappoint. Well, Li Bai did not disappoint!

We ordered: Li Bai BBQ Platter that included: Signature ‘Otoro’ Char Siu Crispy ‘Crackling’ Pork Belly Suckling Pig Bao Buns; Wok Fried Wagyu Beef with Morel Mushroom and ‘Hei Jiao’ Black Pepper; Morning Glory Stir Fried in Garlic; Signature XO Sauce Fried Rice; Beef Hor Fun and for dessert: Chilled Mango Cream, Pomelo & Sago. Everything was just absolutely delicious and flavorful. We were clean plate club members at Li Bai! So much so, the kids wanted to order another additional portion of char siu and crispy pork so I said, on the condition that they eat the vegetables (Morning Glory) which they did and then stated that if I cook like this at home, they would eat vegetables all the time (insert eye roll).

Our server, Phuong Tran was lovely and provided excellent service. We have a peanut allergy and she checked to make sure all our dishes were safe and came back to tell us the char siu is marinated with peanuts. We ordered it anyway, our poor kid that is allergic watched us devour the char siu with his little brother telling him this is the wagyu of char siu, melting in your mouth. Well, he will get over the trauma of missing out. Ms. Tran also recommended we try the mango cream for dessert and she was spot on, absolutely refreshing and not too sweet and hit the spot after a meal where we stuffed ourselves!

We're so glad we decided to dine here. Memorable and delicious albeit pricey but we are on vacation and will look at the credit card bill later. Also, realized I forgot to take photos after I looked at all our empty plates. We were so busy...

Definitely will return.

The chilli paste!!!

Love their simple and elegant decor, even the menu is beautifully bounded. The service is on the spot. Presentation is beautiful and appetizing.

Li Bai (701-62) was one of top poets of China. Kids in China grow up with his poems.

The restaurant offers more than Cantonese cuisine. I’m so looking forward to an authentic Cantonese dinner, so we went.

Our bellies could only take two dishes: Steamed cod: most wonderful. Dongpo Pork 东坡肉: the meat is tender, dish is tasty and well presented but it’s not the traditional dongpo. The color of the meat is too light and dull, and tasted different. I was expecting the deep and shiny square pork belly, often served strings tied like a gift box. The mahogany color is from caramelized rock sugar. I don’t like my food sweet but this is one of few dishes that I don’t mind.

The freebies are delicious: tiny fried anchovy with the chilli sauce, and cashews. Their hot sauce is the best during my three weeks trip, hands down. What a treat! When I mention this to the young lady, she said sweetly “I can give you some to take home.”I wasn’t going to but after she refilled it toward end of the meal, I said, “ok.” since they’ll threw it away. … AND I shared it with my friends the following morning, and we finished it - we’re dying for a good chilli paste. I’ve two bowls of pho, seriously, all because of this.

Wish their ceiling could be a bit higher. Being on the third floor in the Sheraton, this will never happen.

We didn’t order dessert… because I want...

Li Bai Dimsum Restaurant inside the Sheraton Hotel is a true gem for anyone who loves authentic, high-quality Chinese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by an elegant and relaxing atmosphere that perfectly complements the dining experience.

The dim sum here is outstanding — each dish is carefully crafted, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavors. Whether it was the tender har gow, the crispy spring rolls, or the rich and savory siu mai, every bite was a delight. The menu offers a wide variety, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.

What truly made the experience unforgettable was the exceptional service from our waitress, Tiên. She was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout our meal. Tiên not only made excellent recommendations from the menu but also took the time to explain each dish and ensure we were completely satisfied. Her warm personality and genuine care for guests elevated our dining experience to another level.

It’s rare to encounter service that feels both highly professional and sincerely personal, but Tiên delivered that perfectly. She made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table.

If you’re staying at the Sheraton or simply looking for an extraordinary dim sum experience, Li Bai is a must-visit. And if you're lucky enough to have Tiên as your server, you're in for an even more memorable meal.

Highly recommended for both the incredible food and truly...

I took my parents to Li Bai for their birthday. The dim sum and Peking duck were average, but the Wasabi lobster with mango salad, salted egg lobster, and especially the cod fish dishes were outstanding. The cod fish was exceptional; their cod fish dishes are truly heaven-like! The lobster dishes followed a common theme: the meat was removed, battered, deep-fried, and then coated with the respective sauce. The batter was light and didn’t soak up oil, allowing the fresh, mild, sweet flavor of the lobster to shine through. Crispy Cod Fish in Black Vinegar: The batter was light, crispy, and not greasy, elevating the texture and freshness of the cod. I would rate it 100/10. Steamed Cod: This dish showcased the pure, true nature of the cod fish. It literally melts in your mouth like butter. Buddha Jumping Over the Wall: Although not the best in town, Li Bai nails this dish. The soup is naturally sweet from the mushrooms and added seafood. Each person ordered a soup, but it’s best to share as the portions are quite large and can fill you up quickly. We were a family of five and finished everything we ordered. The total bill was 20mil, including tax and service. Without the soup, it’s probably around 8-9mil VND, which is worth it for the experience.
