As an Australian Tourist, this has been the most expensive, yet worst steakhouse I have tried in Saigon. I have tried Elsol, BepBo, El Gaucho, 48 Bistro, and this has easily been my worst experience.
STEAK:
I ordered the Australian Signature Black Angus Tenderloin 400g, MEDIUM RARE, face valued 1,800,000VND (120AUD), before 50% discount on mondays.
First serve was horrendously over cooked (image 1), with the exterior burnt. The steak tasted like a piece of rubber.
The manager told us the kitchen will cook me a new steak. When it arrived, it was now extremely under cooked, to the point of being rare/blue (image 2). I then had to send it back yet again…
When the steak arrived again, after being reheated, the middle was medium rare (image 3), however the edge was still extremely over cooked (image 4).
FRIES:
The fries were horrible. Wiggly cut chips, something you’d serve a child not a high end restaurant.
The were extremely dry and hard on the outside, and undercooked on the inside. Fries are supposed to be crunchy, yet fluffy. When biting into the fries, you could still crunch on the potato, thats how undercooked it was.
Service and my experience:
As a high end steak house, it is extremely disappointing how the chef here is unable to evenly cook a steak.
Even after the 50% promotion, i do not feel it is worth any value. I would not even come back if it was free of cost.
Moreover, the staff here do not give off welcoming or warm vibes, they answered in a very condescending tone when I asked questions such as “does the steak come with sauce or sides”, as if it was a stupid question.
Even after the multiple complaints and multiple send back, I did not receive any compensation for other than free fries (which were horrible) for this terrible experience. When presented the bill by the manager, he did not even bother to tell me that the fries were compensated, i had to look at the receipt to find out myself. He did not even bother to make sure I was happy or how I felt about the dinner. Not even a single apology. The level of service needs to improve...

Well implemented steakhouse with a good selection of steak and other food
There was a bit of confusion about their 50% of discount. We thought we were going to get it, and we got a few excuses why we weren't. We were first told that it was only on Mondays (which isn't written in the offer), then told that it was their other location. But in the end it didn't matter, we just weren't getting any consideration despite the promised discount to lure is in.
We ordered two different steaks, and not only was the quality excellent, the staff got the order exactly correct and the chef cooked both steaks exactly as requested. We also tried their foie gras sauce (one sauce order was more than enough for 2 steaks). The sauce was also excellent.
Overall, service was quite good without being pushy, good balance of helpful without hovering or constantly interrupting or rearranging things on the table. So good points for that.
Overall, we'd recommend the restaurant, but we took a point off from the score due to the bait and switch tactics on the discount. It could easily be some cultural disconnect that we just weren't seeing eye to eye on, but we felt tricked. Offering discounts then taking them back, is playing with fire, and in this case they got burned for a point on their review score. From their point of view, I guess this would fall into the category of "no good deed goes unpunished", since they presumably we're trying to do a good thing and it made us somewhat unhappy. Oh well.

Read moreEverything is top notch from the moment you walk in the door. So whatever the gentleman that was outside didn't greet me coming in or out. Not sure if he's just security or part of the company. The host was gracious and welcoming.
I ordered the basic salad which was wonderful and filled with thinly sliced Peppers dates olives and the vinaigrette dressing was a very light flavor and was not tart.
The roasted bone marrow was inexpensive I'm wonderfully flavored. My recommendation on this would be to add another piece of toast as I also like to combine the marrow with a delivery vehicle. And I went through the two pieces quickly but that's just me. The accompanying dips were amazing and the addition of the salad garnish made for a clean pallet.
The A5 3 oz portion was just enough and was an amazing peace. If you have not had A5 you better not miss out. The dish came out on a sizzling cast iron and for the final presentation they lit on fire for a quick char on the asparagus and meat.
Atmosphere and wine list was enjoyable. I did not review the wine list much, but noted some of my favorites. The building is a wonderful three-story building so be prepared to walk up some stairs that are very wide and easy to manage.
