Date: 5th May 18 @ 6.30 pm. I have visited Tandoor countless times, and surprisingly the experience was pleasant if not extravagant. Noting special, but not bad. But on this unfortunate day, it was insulting and rude. We was joined with my Vietnamese friends, and I was pretty describing about the Indian hospitality to them. We planned for a Masala Chai, and dinner after that. We were 2 and 2 of them were joining later. We ordered for the Chai, and soon after, we were rushed for some appetizer. I said that I don't wish to order, but they insisted to try "Sirf Chai" said the manager. I gave in a soft excuse that they won't like the samosas. He said "In logon ko kya samjhta hai, aap order Karo" well, he was pretty strong and my friend was getting uncomfortable. I gave in an ordered a plate, he insisted 2, I gave in with him, and told him to get 2, but please give some space. He got the Chai, and the samosas. My other friends joined to. We were having our casual chitchat until he cropped up again and rushing us to drink the Chai and eat the samosas faster. He was so obvious that even my Vietnamese friend could understand his gestures. He was so unaware, that after I gestured him that he was rushing and my friends are feeling uncomfortable, he said in English " No problem take your time... No rush". I was fuming but was surprised on the presence of mind of this guy. That was the final nail in the coffin. They felt uncomfortable and asked me if we could leave. I felt so embarrassed, because moments ago I was detailing them about Indian hospitality and "Atithi Devo Bhava". Asked for the bill, but cleverly, he sent a waitress to speak in Vietnamese to my friends if there is anything else we wish to order, and explaining the unpleasant incident. He couldn't even apologize for himself, but instead sent a proxy to do that, who doesn't even know what happened. But she was brave, and my friends despite being quite furious politely refused, and said that she's unaware of the incident, so she can't explain also. I paid for the 350 odd thousands for the Chai, and left. Such a shoddy experience, I doubt if I'll even get it in India.

I remember a young manager previously, and he was pretty good and welcoming.

I don't understand this logic if rushing people to vacate tables for more business. If you check any restaurants or cafes here, people buy a green tea and stay forever, because it is so. Furthermore this guy actually lost business because our plan was for the dinner, instead we had a bad experience and I pledge to never return to this restaurant ever. Pity that the mindset has been so timid and poor even after experiencing the quality and standards the Vietnamese hospitality is serving. Koreans, Japanese, Taiwanese are doing extremely well just for the same purpose and creating a long term brand with getting good business. We went directly to Ganesh, and had a great time there. Food at Ganesh as always was Excellent, Economical, and Vishal (the host) was so welcoming. He actually saved the day for me, or I would have had to eat my own words with a shovel (about Indian hosilpitality).

I made it lengthy and detailed, because it should be so. Learn, be...

Title: A Wonderful Experience at India

I recently had the pleasure of dining at India Restaurant, and it turned out to be a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the restaurant's inviting atmosphere, beautiful interiors, and attention to detail in terms of decor.

The staff at India Restaurant deserves special mention for their prompt and courteous service. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to assist with any queries or special requests. Their friendly demeanor created a welcoming and comfortable environment for diners.

As for the food, I ordered a variety of dishes and each one exceeded my expectations. The Veg Pakoda was a great way to start the meal, with its crispy exterior and flavorful assortment of vegetables. The Paneer Chilli was a standout, with the perfect balance of spice and succulent paneer cubes. The Tandoori Chicken was another highlight, cooked to perfection and boasting a smoky and aromatic taste that left me wanting more.

What impressed me most about the culinary experience at India Restaurant was the depth and richness of flavors in each dish. It was evident that the chefs took pride in their craft, as the combination of spices and ingredients resulted in a truly authentic and satisfying meal.

The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling completely satiated. The presentation of the dishes was also visually appealing, adding to the overall dining experience.

India Restaurant is definitely a place worth visiting again. Whether you're a fan of vegetarian delights, crave the fiery flavors of Indo-Chinese cuisine, or desire the succulence of tandoori preparations, this restaurant offers a wide range of options to suit different palates.

In conclusion, I highly recommend India Restaurant for its wonderful ambiance, prompt service, and flavorful dishes. The attention to detail in the interiors and decor, coupled with the attentive staff, create a memorable dining experience. I look forward to returning to India Restaurant in the future to indulge in their delectable...

“Arrogant Manager/Slow services... but Good ambiance & food” Generally I do not write negative reviews but this one star (terrible) is only for the arrogant manager & the very slow service. Tandoor is one of the centrally located Indian restaurant in HCMC. It looks a perfect place from outside & inside in terms of ambience but the moment you interact with the arrogant manager you feel like leaving the place. After a busy day at work, me & my colleague decided to have dinner at this place. When we entered the restaurant the service staff lady asked sit on a table (4 seater). After sometime this arrogant manager jumped & very rudely instructed ask to change the table (to 2 seater) as we were occupying more space (as per him). Then he returned after 15 minutes to take the order as he was only running around the place & seemed only attending European customers. He was not at all interested in suggesting any specialty served in his restaurant. The food arrived very late & when asked about additions they blankly said that it will take 15 minutes more & we should have ordered at the first time.

Apart from the humiliation from the staff the food was good. They have wide spread of the Indian menu & is very well prepared.

We only waited there patiently as we were very hungry & have no energy to argue or change.

Location : Centrally located in District 1 Food : wide spread of the Indian menu & is very well prepared. Staff Service : slow & arrogant Parking : Yes Service Level : 0/10 Cleanliness : 10/10 Unique Point / Differentiating factor : Poor Hospitality Overall Experience : Visit if you want to feel the humiliated Value for money : 3/10 (3 is for the food) Overall prices are expensive compared to other Indian...

A Culinary Journey to Remember: Tandoor Restaurant in Hồ Chí Minh City Hey there, foodies! Let me take you on a gastronomic adventure that transported us back to the flavors of India amidst the bustling streets of Hồ Chí Minh City. When you're traveling outside of India, discovering good Indian food feels like finding a treasure, and our experience at Tandoor truly stole our hearts. During our final days in Hồ Chí Minh City, we stumbled upon Tandoor, a culinary haven that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the impeccable service, hospitable staff, and tantalizing aromas wafting through the air signaled that we were in for a treat. The ambiance of Tandoor felt like a slice of India itself, with stunning decor that transported us to a realm of familiarity and comfort. The attention to detail in the setting added an extra layer of authenticity to our dining experience, making us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. Our taste buds were treated to a symphony of flavors as we savored dishes like Paneer Biryani, delicate Idlis, succulent Paneer Tikka Malasa as a starter, and crispy Masala Papad. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with authentic Indian spices and prepared with utmost care and skill. The dining experience at Tandoor was nothing short of extraordinary, and every morsel we indulged in was worth every penny spent. If you're in search of the best vegetarian Indian food in Hồ Chí Minh City, look no further than Tandoor. Trust me, this place comes highly recommended for its delicious food. First impression was a certain level of service is expected here. Someone is ready to greet at the door, and they get the door on your way in. Second impression is the smell of lamb meat inside. I asked waiter if they had goat curry and was pointed to lamb items. Disappointed that they couldn’t make a distinction between the two animals. Lamb meat is more gamey than goat in my experience, so I went with the Chicken Tikka instead. Flavorful, can tell many spices were used. The chicken was well marinated. Super tender. The sauce was ok, also many spices but it is less creamy than the kind I’m used to in US. This is a good thing because it tells me they’re using Indian yogurt instead of half and half coffee creamer. The saltiness of this dish grew uncomfortable about two chicken pieces in. The chicken pieces were also large, almost as wide as the drink cup. I had to cut them into fours. Naan was excellent. Texture was light, airy, and savory. Mango lassi was ordered for a refreshing probiotic, it was mid day. The mango lassi was ridiculously tasty. Chicken lollipops was ordered as an appetizer. It’s a tasty way to see if the Chef is great with a knife, which they were. This appetizer had right amount of crisp and seasoning. Service was top notch. They asked how was the entree. I told the truth and was offered a redo. On the second time, I realized it was the marinated chicken that was salty and not the masala. Overall I like the experience. They try their best to make it a pleasant one.
