Space: Chic and high-class space. Nice decoration. Quality: I ordered beef stewed rice (can't recall the exact name) and egg coffee. They all should be warm or am I wrong? Food taste is nice, but cold too. I don't highly recommend over other egg coffee places. Price: major problem! Aside from the fact that their food and drinks are significantly costly (due to its location I assume), Runam service charge is added a certain extra % on listed price AFTER VAT charge? Service charge should be calculated on origin price before VAT. Eg: 1 cup of tea: $5 10% VAT: $510%=$0.5 5% service charge: $55%=$0.25 Total bill= $5.75

But no, they charge me service charge= $5.5 ($5.5 is price after added VAT) *5%? I asked for explanation, no staff can give me reasonable answer, or no corrective action either. Disappointing I may say, as a heavy coffee hopper in SGN for over 10years.

Unfortunately I lost my bill as evidence but yeah, I hope this review will act as a heads up for anyone who may overlook such charge.

But after the question, yes I still fully paid. It is very intentional to have issued such bill and unethical business I believe. And I even wondered sideway, if surplus charges is on the expense of customers, do they share it evenly to staffs and team? Nah I don't think so. Since staffs are even confused and cannot understand the breakdown of these items on bill, how can they know they're eligible for it?

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Runam Đồng Khởi — truly one of the best coffee and brunch spots I’ve ever been to.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how beautifully designed the space is. The outdoor area with a serene pond, lush greenery, and elegantly arranged seating felt like a peaceful escape right in the heart of the city. The indoor decor is equally stunning, with comfortable lounge chairs, cozy couches, and refined design touches throughout that create a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere.

The service was exceptional. The manager spoke fluent English, which made it incredibly easy to communicate my complex coffee order, which included coconut milk, a sugar replacement, and a few other non-standard preferences. Everything was understood perfectly and executed flawlessly — a rare find!

The waitstaff was equally impressive: quick, efficient, and always smiling. Every dish and drink arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. You can tell the team here takes pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail.

Right by the waterfront, it has the vibe of a nicely air-conditioned hotel lobby cafe. Fantastic spot to rest or do some work laptop work if you can nab seating by the windows that have natural sunlight filtering into the room.

Prices about 30% higher than your average cafe. 80K VND for a condensed milk Viet coffee. Lots of pastry options and food choices, food mostly starting at 100-120K VND.

They play somewhat dull covers of Western music pop classics. Staff are super cordial and polite, zero problems with ordering in English.
