Nhà hàng Hàn Quốc Myung Ga — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

My wife and I are staying at the Intercontinental Residences and decided to have lunch here. We ordered Beef Bibimbap, Tofu Seafood Soup and a Seafood pancake, during a quiet afternoon with no guest in the restaurant. Surprisingly, the waiter asked us why we order so much food for two people and suggest we reduce an order! I politely said no, that's ok, that's our standard set we enjoy. Soon after, either manager or clerk, also came and asked in Vietnamese (quite rudely) how many are eating and she thought we ordered too much. My response this time was a bit more strong, asked her why is it a problem, if we don't finish and if it's good we'll take it home, end of discussion. Food came, Beef Bibimbap had no beef, we politely asked the waiter, and he said its in there but very small chunks. I asked for him to find the chunks, he couldn't so he went and got us beef. We decided to take the remaining food to-go (perhaps dinner) when we were full. The waiter took it to the back, and went back to the area where he was eating lunch. We stood there for a good 10 minutes, and came across a gentlemen in a blazer. Perhaps he's the owner, so we asked him where our to-go was at. He went to grab the waiter, and the waiter went to the back to THEN PREPARE IT. It was frustrating and hysterical at the same time. We told the owner about the issues that occurred since he was there, he just nodded ok ok and walked off. In summary, it is very unlikely we'll be back here, ever again...too bad, because the sides...

I was overwhelmed by a variety of Korean banchan, again surprisingly each one is delicious. I ate japchae(korean sweet potato noddles), rice cake, kimchi pancake, fresh cabbage kimchi and so many other side dishes... I particularly ordered chungkukjang soup(fermented soybean soup, which is very stronger flavour than denjang soup) and it cooked with fresh tofu with a genuine taste. It seems very popular to local Vietnamese and expats from Asian countries but definitely it is Korean taste, not compromising. The owner and the staffs are kind and nice. They also sell fresh kimchi with variety such as radish kimchi, gatkimchi and cabbage kimchi. The location is on the 2nd floor of M plaza, same building of hard rock cafe. I feel like I will visit Myung ga Korean restaurant very soon. It is not MSG taste so I would love...

so lets talk about banchan (korean side dishes).. lets talk about all 13 they serve here!!! not only do they give heaps of variety but the quality is definitely there too!

their main dishes here are aiight. nothing too special. their Samgyetang has the rich earthy taste however, me personally, it lacked seasoning (but maybe this is how its meant to be done like in korea?)

the highlight of this restaurant is definitely the banchan! order one or two mains (between a group) and then feast on the banchan! generally their serving size of mains is a decent size too!
