If you're a food lover exploring Ho Chi Minh City, do yourself a favor and book a table at Oryz Saigon. My partner and I, visiting from Australia, were absolutely blown away by the entire dining experience here!

The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, with just the right touch of elegance. But what truly made the night memorable was the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Special shoutout to Huy and Do Nhu, who were incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening.

Oryz Saigon’s concept is both unique and inspiring. Each menu theme changes every few months, and during our visit, it was inspired by Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine. They elevate classic dishes by deconstructing and reconstructing them in creative ways, while still honoring the authentic flavors. It’s clear how much thought goes into each dish – they even present a “primary ingredient” in a small box with details on its origin and flavor profile so you can truly appreciate how it’s used in the dish. Such a unique touch!

The ingredients were top-notch and treated with so much respect. Some highlights for us were the Assam Laksa with beautifully smoked fish – refreshing and bursting with flavor; the Chilli Crab, which delivered all the bold flavors of traditional Singaporean chilli crab in a refined way, complete with perfectly paired dipping bread; and my personal favorite, the Pongteh Beef made with A5 wagyu, which was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Every course of this 15-course experience was a delight we didn’t want to end.

We also tried their kombucha pairing, and let me say, it was some of the best kombucha we've ever had! The flavors were complex yet refreshing and complemented the dishes perfectly – a surprising and delightful addition to the evening.

We also had a chance to chat with one of the co-owners, who shared the restaurant's story and passion. She was lovely, and we look forward to talking more with her next time we visit!

In short, Oryz Saigon is an absolute gem. The quality, creativity, and attention to detail rival any fine dining experience, especially at its current price point. If you’re in Ho Chi Minh, don’t miss it – I wouldn’t be surprised if prices rise as word gets out, but even then, it’s worth every penny....

We had dinner at Oryz last night, and it was a truly remarkable experience. Their 14-course tasting menu, themed "Vietnam Journey," was an exciting adventure through local flavors and modern culinary innovation. The restaurant is young and brimming with potential, and you can really feel their drive to push boundaries.

Service: 10/10 – The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Every dish was explained with passion, making the experience feel personal and immersive.

Creativity/Concept: 10/10 – Oryz has truly nailed the concept of blending Vietnam's rich culinary heritage with contemporary techniques. The creativity behind each course is impressive, offering a fresh take on traditional ingredients.

Presentation: 10/10 – Each dish was a visual masterpiece, meticulously plated with elegance and care. It was a pleasure to not only taste but also admire each creation.

Food: 7/10 – While the dishes were visually stunning and conceptually brilliant, the flavors didn't always capture the full essence of the ingredients. There's room for refinement to better balance and enhance the taste profiles. However, the restaurant is heading in the right direction, and with some fine-tuning, the taste can match the high level of creativity and presentation.

Overall, Oryz is a vibrant and exciting restaurant that shows immense promise. It's a perfect place for those looking for a unique dining experience, and we can't wait to see how they continue to evolve. Definitely a must-visit, and we look forward to returning for their...

ORYZ Saigon offers an upscale dining experience with a sophisticated ambiance, perfect for special occasions or romantic evenings. The service at ORYZ Saigon was exceptional, thanks to Dat's outstanding hospitality. Dat took the time to explain each dish in detail, sharing the inspiration behind the creations and the carefully selected ingredients. His passion for the cuisine shone through, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The fine dining Vietnamese and Chinese fusion cuisine at ORYZ Saigon is truly remarkable. Each dish is a masterful blend of flavors, textures, and presentation. From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a delight. The menu showcases the Singaporean chef's creativity and attention to detail, with dishes that are both familiar and innovative. I also loved how the Taiwanese owner cames to meet and greet you at the end of the meal, explained how group of friends created the restaurant and where the idea's came from. It's was also nice to hear incentive program for her staff meaning she care about her staff and wanted to make sure each of them were giving exceptional service. I got the 16 course meal, but one thing I think can improve is to give a little break between season or else it kind of feel like your rushing your customers out the restaurant. My favourite was the radishes as it was fresh and it make prep you to start eating the other courses. For dessert, my favourite was...

The experience of Oryz started when we alighted our vehicle. The warm exterior lighting and the stone steps into giving a glimpse of the wonderful dining experience later. Our waiter share with us some of their specialities as we peruse their unique scroll like menu written on bamboo and cloth. We decided to go ahead with the set meal, which changes every 1 to 2 months. The bread basket was one of the best breads I've tasted, warm and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Some notable dishes are their deconstructed Vietnamese sour fish soup made with trout from Sapa, carefully played and layered to minic the rice terrace of Sapa. Even the bones of the trout is edible. I was pleasently surprise at the incredible taste. Followed by their reimagined shrimp and winter melon dish, inspired by the traditional shrimp and winter melon soup. The shrimp cake was delicious, and for someone who doesn't like winter melon, I finished all of it. And the bulgogi risotto. Very interesting take on the Korean mixed rice. The wagyu beef with rice was definitely some of the best beef steak in Saigon. Lightly charred and crispy on the outside. Tender and soft on the inside. Highly recommended for a meal of Asian fusion and reimagined Vietnamese dishes. Will definitely be back again.
