Cokernut Cafe — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

After a disappointing experience with another café in the area, we headed to Cokernut Cafe. It is a very cozy and attractive little establishment with a standard selection of beverages and smooth jazz playing from the speakers.

The iced coffee with milk was nothing special, but it came with the side of a glass of tea. And, for the first time I've seen in HCMC, the glass of ice tea came with a metal straw and without being wrapped in unnecessary plastic. Truly a positive experience!

The staff is very nice and they keep smiles on their faces. As a waitress brought our drinks to our table, she addressed me in English, which was to to the extent of her skills I believe. I did not prompt it but I appreciate the gesture very much.

The atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for; a quiet place to relax and read a book. The café is not very big, so on crowded days you might have a hard time finding a seat. If you do, however, I assure you it will be worth your money.

I would very much recommend this place and visit it again...

Cokernut is great! Tucked away in Tan Dinh, and quite small at that, it's a cafe you might quickly zip by on a motorbike or on a car. But, if you know where to look, it certainly is a delight!

While Cokernut seats maybe 15 people max, the drinks are quality, relatively affordable (55k for a hot latte), and the space is well-designed. Comparable to what I feel is an overwhelming wave of minimalist cafe aesthetic around Saigon, Cokernut goes for a bold orange and blue combination, and does it well.

The space has a single large table that can be good for slightly larger groups (6 people) and some work. Most seating, though, is more conducive for individuals or pairs, either for a good book or conversation.

Vibe feels friendly and you'll regularly see the owner around. Also, I've been going here for a few months now and happy to share that they finally take credit card!

Cokernut Cafe

Quán nằm trên đường Trần Nhật Duật. Đối diện là một trường quốc tế nho nhỏ, kế bên quán là kho GHTK nên cũng dễ tìm. Bạn cứ thấy quán nào nhỏ nhỏ, nhưng lúc nào cũng có khách thì chính là nó.

Không gian quán: Quán không to, nhưng chứa được khoảng 16-18 người cũng thoải mái Không khí mát mẻ, mỗi lần vào quán mình thấy chill chill (mình bị viêm mũi dị ứng nên sẽ không thích quán nào quá lạnh hoặc gió thổi thằng vào người, đối với mình quán tốt là phải mát vừa đủ thôi) Có 2 vị trí ngồi cực chill: bên trong nhìn ra kính bênh ngoài và ghế bên ngoài (nếu muốn hút thuốc), tất nhiên bạn chỉ thấy đường bên ngoài nhưng do con đường này khá tháng đoãng lại rộng nên mình có thể ngồi 4,5 tiếng ở đây chỉ để ngồi uống nước và nhìn ra bên ngoài trò chuyện cùng bạn mình. Đặc biệt tới tối lại bật mấy quả đèn tròn nên nhìn ra ngoài mặt gương tạo hiệu ứng lại thấy đẹp đẹp Cái WC cũng rất cool ngầu nha, vào thử nhìn poster xung quanh thì biết 😎 Món của quán Món nước: menu cũng đa dạng, nước ngon, dễ uống. Mình thích uống các loại trà, juice của quán. Ngoài ra quán có thêm các loại coffee, coldbrew, matcha Món ăn: bánh cookie ngon, có chế độ làm nóng bánh nên lúc bạn phục vụ mang ra như từ mới ra lò, ăn ngon và ổn lắm nha. Dịch vụ: Dễ chịu, nhiệt tình, có để ý dặn dò của khách Nhạc: một điểm cực kì ổn của quán này là playlist nhạc cực hay, có lẽ do nó hợp với thế hệ của mình, âm lượng vừa đủ không quá to không quá nhỏ để trò chuyện mà vẫn vừa thưởng thức Có chỗ cắm laptop nha
