The place to be for cocktail and whiskey lovers alike. The decorations look as fancy as any 5 stars hotel bar or even better. Menu is extensive from cocktails, gin, whiskeys and all the drinks you can expect from a bar. They have quite okay selection of whiskeys, some of them are very nice for a reasonable price (for the average price for whiskey in Saigon). The bartenders have good knowledge and skills to make great cocktails and can suggest/make cocktails based on your choices of base liquors/spirits and flavors. The music selection is catered to everyone liking ranging from jazz, funk, blue, soul, sometimes pop. The seats on the bar is the most comfortable in all of the whiskey/cocktail bars in Saigon. You have your own spotlight above each seat so it still feel like you have your own space and privacy to enjoy your drink of choice. Smoking is allowed inside but the place is quite spacious and good ventilation so it won't be a big problem for non smokers. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a good whiskey or cocktail, either with friends or on your own Rabbit Hole is the place to be.
Edit 2022: become too commercial, too noisy sometimes. The quality of drinks is still there, service is still the same but the vibe is long gone. No longer allowing to smoke on the counter, crowded but not speak easy bar. Becoming quite a posh location without a soul. Definitely a place to impress your date, place to enjoy a drink is probably not Rabbit...
Read moreA damn good find with quality service and atmosphere hidden on the street of Nam Ki Khoi Nghia
It’s actually a very clever name, because it located in the basement of a restaurant. Took me a while to find it because the restaurant was closed and I can’t see the rabbit hole sign anywhere so I was just walking around the restaurant
The service: The bartender was very friendly and ready to chat. If you are drinking alone you won’t feel left out.
There’s a massive display of alcohol so any drink you want, they got you covered. There are lot of good alcohol that not a lot of bars carry here
Although the menu is on the pricier type, the quality and vibe make it worth it. One of the few places that make a Bloody Mary I actually enjoy. The menu layout was so unique and special. It opens like a story book.
The atmosphere: The place presents itself like a classic lounge with low and jazzy music. Not too dark but not too brightly lit either. The space is opened and doesn’t feel constricted. And there’s parking so already a plus for me
Most of the tables are reserved so if you’re like me and drink alone with no reservation, you will be with the bartender - which I don’t mind
The decor on the bartender table was very “interesting”. It feels out of place but also make sense with vibe of the lounge somehow
Overall, would come back here again. The drinks are great, the vibe is nice, the atmosphere is...
Read moreRabbit Hole is my favorite speakeasy bar from concept to service in my top 5 favorite bars.
The first plus point is for the concept. The location of the bar is in the basement below a restaurant. Rabbit Hole will lead you to Alice Wonderland when you walk over the black door opens into the "cave". The bar has a low ceiling with such a concept to look like a cave, but it is a very large cave and has many different sitting areas. Rabbit Hole also has a piano corner, some days playing pretty and romantic music.
The interior space of the bar area decorated and painted is quite impressive with the "hidden gentlemen." 😂
The second is a well-organized menu. Two years ago, when I came, the menu had not been invested much in design. At that time, I just liked the description of different wines so that customers could easily choose. The second time coming to the bar, I was pretty impressed by the stories on the menu. From illustrations, captions, pictures to a "cave" in the middle of the menu book... all have intentions and make sense together. I'm going to the bar to drink but love the menu book more haha.
And the last thing is, the delicious wine and attentive service from the bartenders make me always want to keep Rabbit Hole as a rendezvous with...
