Ran Bien Seafood — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Food was decent and fresh, on the plus side, along with a large size. That is not to say large portion sizes, but the clams, for example, were the largest clams I'd ever eaten. However, taste was decent at best. The scallops were bland and tasteless, the clams were ok. The crab and oyster were the best, but at close to 200.000 each (for one medium sized oyster and one small crab), just wasn't worth the price in our opinion. Service was good, though be aware they opened our wet napkins for us. That in itself was not a big deal, as they are relatively inexpensive. However, they gave us a brand new tube of wasabi for the oyster, and the waitress started to open that as well. Thankfully my wife called out to stop her, or we would've had an extra 100.000 charge for wasabi we didn't want. Be very cautious. Even though you may not want it, even though the employee opens it without asking, you will have to pay. This in particular left a very bad taste in my mouth, and dropped the rating from 3 to 2 stars for me. Clearly, opening these items for you is not a 'service', they are just trying to make more money off...

I ordered .5kg of Tôm kho Tàu and the dish had 2 parts tail and 4 heads. I asked what happened and the manager said that the other 2 body parts without the tail shrank and I ate it and didn’t notice it.

However, I had only eaten 2 parts. The restaurant couldn’t figure out what happened to the other 2 prawns and kept insisting that there were 4 prawns to begin with.

Service was not accommodating. I felt like they weren’t listening to what I said and never tried to fix the problem. We kept arguing back and forth until I completely lost my appetite. I quickly asked for the check, paid, and left.

Will never come back here again, will never recommend anyone to come to any Rang...

First time here. It was right next to our hotel so we decided to give it a try. Definitely fun picking out the fresh seafood, they explained it was priced per kg depending on how much they weigh…..ok no problem, that’s normal. The price wasn’t the issue….the food was just alright but the service was terrible. There were so many people standing around waiting but majority of them didn’t do anything. We had to ask for our drinks 3 times, we had to ask for napkins (and needed more due to the messiness of the crabs) and the food was luke warm when it came out. What’s worse is they charge you PER NAPKIN! 🙄 In a city full of options, this did not make my list of places...
