The space is terrific! Has a main room and a semi outside patio area split by a very cool bar with lots of options. Good for business and good for a casual date also. It is in the back of an office building so you need to look for it. But it gives you a sanctuary from the busy-ness of the streets.
The food is so easy and so On! All the favorite Vietnamese fares are represented. It is elevated with higher quality and presentation. The flavors are still there but not as greasy nor salty IMHO. The menu is a bit more Western presentation to Vietnamese flavors. The servings are not too large but large enough to share. I think the portions are terrific if you have a group. You can pivot around a lot of dishes and get enough to appreciate them individually.
My favorite is the caramelized shrimp and pork belly clay pot. The flavors of fish sauce and sugar over rice and peppers and a bit of herbs is so heart warming and hearthy. After that is the bo ne plate. That is a very organized hodge·podge of flavors and such a fun dish! You can create your own flavors as you eat between the steak, eggs, pate, etc. The surprise was the goi cuon ca hoi. Essentially spring roll with salmon. It seemed weird for an American Vietnamese. But when I bit into it, it worked perfectly. Really a nice bridge between Viet and West. It was familiar to both, easy, and comforting to both palettes. Which generally describes all the six dishes that I had there.
The beverage and drinks options are also well thought out. You can have local refreshing beverages or spike it up with a full cocktail bar to give you the vibes.
Calvin Bui is a great host. He is always very humble about himself and what he and his team has achieved. He has a great financial and business mind so keep and eye out for this cat. He is going somewhere if not everywhere.
My recommendation is to give yourself a bit of time to relax at CTY Kitchen. Bring a few friends. And watch how the restaurant operates. Interact with the staff. Look for Calvin at the bar on his laptop. I really enjoyed spending 3 hours chilling on a mid...

Had a hot date didn’t know where to take her for lunch. This was recommended by a friend. Great place to take a date for business lunch. Took her home afterwards. Might have been the help of great ambience and delicious food to put her in the mood. She didn’t want to go anywhere else except my place afterwards. I didn’t even have to buy her any alcohol this time.
Taxi driver was a bit confused dropping us off but lucky for us we have google maps to navigate fearlessly through the congested streets of sunny Saigon.
Exploring through this massive building was giving me dejavu vibes, and not the strip club back in California. I’ve stumbled through these elevators before. Rooftop bar upstairs!!! Dao House.
This hidden gem CTY was located just behind the elevators 🛗 of the building. Decor was warm welcoming upscale clean open space plenty of seating. The lighting was well placed and photos of the food turned out amazing.
The winner was the chicken and rice. Good portion of juicy chicken and mouth watering sauce was served with enough greens on the side. Meal came with a drink so you are not thirsty from the sizzle Saigon weather.
Service is what you would expect from a fancy establishment. We were greeted and seated immediately with menus in hand. Servers came to us after we took our sweet time studying the menu like it was a subject of our midterm college exam.
Food so good my date paid for our meal and booked the fastest taxi service available to get us back to my place. Things got hot and heavy when we got back to my bedroom maybe because A/C was not on. Clothes quickly came off since she was needy for another load of laundry.
My Wife was happy she didn’t have to do the dishes. Overall highly recommended...
