Disappointed.
I took my family for a late Sunday afternoon lunch around 2:00 pm and it was just disappointed. Not crowded.
I have lived and worked in HCM for over 10 years, and Hokkaido Sachi used to be one of my favorite Japanese restaurants.
The service quality post-COVID has significantly declined; the female staff who takes orders no longer smiles and now lack hospitality.
Most importantly, 75% of the dishes I ordered were out of stock and not available for service. King salmon sashimi, salmon toro sashimi, tekka maki, burikama, uni gunkan, maguro sashimi, ika sugata tsukuri—most of what I wanted to order, they had no food to serve.
For some items, like burikama, the staff informed me they no longer serve it. If that’s the case, it should be removed from the menu. This suggests a problem with the restaurant’s raw materials purchasing and procurement.
Additionally, the female staff started cleaning up the floor with broom in front of customers while they were still eating, making dust.
This is not up to Japanese standards.
I ordered a coke for my kids, and despite there being only a few customers and many staff members, it took over 10 minutes to serve a single can of coke even I asked few times of reminders. They were busy cleaning and polishing dishes. I felt very unsatisfied, especially since they never apologized for the wait, as if it were normal. The service quality and food stock management have definitely deteriorated.
I will not return until they improve their hospitality and service.
What happened to Hokkaido Sachi system? Did manager change here??
The food itself is not bad, but the environment and attitude of the staff make it much worse.
Finally, when checking the bill, the staff asked for service feedback in front of her, so I confidently gave 1 star.
I hope to find another good Japanese restaurant.

Read moreProbably one of the WORST restaurant in Vincom Dong Khoi, Dodged! First of all, me and my partner walked in and waited at the counter for 5 minute without being seated, there were 6 staffs ignoring us whilst cleaning the tables. After that, when we were ready to order food, a staff came in and told us wait for few seconds when he was browsing his phone. Awesome. We ordered 3 dishes and none of these dishes coming out after 23 min until we asked another staff if they would fullfilled our order or not. After checking, a dish came out and we have to wait another 15min for another dish. In short, none of the dish was served without asking staff. There were like 10 customers, 8 chefs, 5 waitresses and 1 reception at that...

The food remains relatively consistent across the chain, but extended wait times and inattentive service make for a decidedly mediocre dining experience. This issue of understaffing seems to plague not just this location but also other restaurants under the same ownership, resulting in visibly frustrated customers. Adding to the discomfort was the unsettling hygiene—damp plates served with a side of lingering food particles. Given the premium price tag, one would reasonably expect Hokkaido Sachi to aim for markedly higher standards. Suffice it to say, I won't be returning to this particular outlet, at least not of my...
