“I fear not the man who bakes 1000 cakes, I fear the man who bakes 1 cake 1000 times.” This quote fits the menu for this restaurant perfectly. This is the most overpriced place I’ve tried in Ho Chi Minh. I don’t understand how this restaurant has such good reviews, I think it’s because of their desserts. But basically, our food was terrible. I’m okay with paying a lot for food if it tastes good, but this was atrocious. The unagi cone tasted only of mint, there was barely anything in there, a couple sticks of cucumber, mint leaves, and one piece of unagi. The udon noodles were over cooked and soggy, the ingredients in there seem completely thrown together. The seafood don was basic, nothing special and a lot of rice. The sushi roll that we tried was okay, but not worth the price. What made me mad was that I was so looking forward to the parfait, but the matcha parfait was bland and not even sweet. The only saving grace was the lava cake with ice cream, that actually tasted pretty good. The customer service was pretty terrible, they didn’t give us English menus, so we couldn’t even understand half the things on the menu even though we spoke English to them the whole time. I only found out there was an English menu when I asked about a certain dessert dish and the waitress couldn’t answer, so she brought me the menu with English. They didn’t bother clearing our plates at all and you would think that a restaurant like this would at least offer water or tea. I had to wave them down several times for them to clear away the dirty plates so that there would be room to put our dessert on the table. The restaurant wasn’t even busy by then. It was only our table and a couple other tables still eating. Overall, I would say to go try their dessert, but definitely pass on the...
Read moreDrinks are good, food is bland and the service was bad. We’ve ordered a Matcha Latte with oatmilk and a Hojicha Latte. Both were well made. For food we ordered a spicy Chachu Ramen and a Tonkutsu Curry (which was marked as must try). The spicy ramen was not spicy and the Chachu was bland and chewy. The tonkatsu was half raw. After notifying the service they served it on another smaller plate with less curry sauce and it looked really unappetizing. Payment took long, the table next to us was waiting for the bill for quiet some time. After finally receiving the bill, the waiter took my credit card, brouht it to the cashier desk and left it there. Besides a kitchen staff waiting to serve the food, no employee was watching the cashier desk including my credit card. This is a no go. Anyone could have just went by and taken the card. In general the service employees looked...
Read moreThe ventilator in this place is terrible. You can get food smell just after 10 minutes sitting here. They run out of almost all of their sashimi menu after we have made the order. I originally wanted to order 4 dishes but then only 1 available (the staff run back and forth 3 times just to announce what I order is running out) We want to leave to another place but the staff requires us to sit and wait. They don't even offer us anything as service recovery for such inconvenience and we even have to fetch our own culetry. Definitely not recommended. I prefer their mPlaza location but then they close on Sunday. Edit: in the end there's no such refill of the dish I want. They just request us to wait because they don't want to cancel the bill. Super bad service since I have asked for cancellation right after they informed us they run...
