I never wrote negative reviews but this one had to to be said: Please don’t visit this bar!!! This was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had at a bar. Our order was forgotten for over twenty minutes. We had to go downstairs ourselves before the staff realized the mistake. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of an apology or any sign that they felt sorry. I even spoke Vietnamese to avoid any misunderstanding.
Eventually, a waiter brought the drinks and said sorry once, but the overall attitude remained indifferent. They clearly saw that we were unhappy but made no effort to improve the experience. There were only four other customers in the entire bar, which makes the poor service even more frustrating.
When we wanted to pay, we were ignored again. One of the waiters kept talking to other guests and showed no interest in helping us. He could have at least asked a colleague to handle the bill, but instead I had to ask him again myself.
The drinks were acceptable but quite expensive. We paid 577k for a whisky and a gin sour. On top of that, the bar had an unpleasant smell. It reminded me of damp pipes and had a humid, musty odor similar to a bathroom.
Overall, the atmosphere was unpleasant , the service was careless and bad, and the environment was uncomfortable. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreDuring my recent trip to Ho Chi Minh, my best friend and I went out for cocktails almost every night, and one bar in particular really stood out!
It was this hidden telephone bar! When we arrived, I actually forgot how to enter because it was so quiet outside and didn’t even look like there was a door 😅 Maygani naka sulod rami hahaha ky pariha mi dali mo-give up but luckily, we figured it out! Once inside, the ambiance was absolutely beautiful: dim lighting, a live pianist, and a cozy bar setup. Gors nagyud mi.
What amazed us the most? No menu at all! You can either describe any cocktail you want, or just tell the bartender how you feel and they’ll craft something custom for you on the spot. The creativity and care they put into the drinks was next level. Definitely one of the best cocktails we had in Ho Chi Minh! If you're looking for a unique, intimate spot to cap off your night. Telephone Bar, 41 Nguyễn Văn Tráng Phường Phạm Ngũ Lão, Quận 1, Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam is highly recommended! Read moreI rarely write bad reviews since it's not a good look on businesses but here it goes.
Had a very disturbing experience and frustrated with how they run the business here. Not once, but twice. Went here a couple of years back when it was newly opened, hoped to have a good experience since I loved how they set up the atmosphere. Though, one of the bartender was sexist when I said I wanted something strong, and only asked my male friend how the drink was then ignored me completely for the whole night.
2nd time was different this month. I finished my drink and was ready to leave. but was waiting for my friend, a server came up and asked if i wanted another drink, i said no. he kept asking and saying that it's not nice to leave my friend drinking alone and it's been more than an hour (yes, he really said that) 😂 i just laughed and refused. then he shook his head and gave me one of those attitudes. Honestly, I think you should learn the fundamentals of hospitality before actually working in this industry.
Drinks are okay, not impressive. Got drunk on cheap attitudes and bad service in a nice place is a whole...
