My wife and I were here this evening for a "Com Tam" or "Broken Rice" dinner as recommended by a local staff member at the hotel where we are staying at in Ho Chi Minh City - my wife and I are both first time visitors to Vietnam. And it turned out to be an excellent recommendation. We ordered the following: a Suon Nuong Bi Opla or grilled pork chop, shredded pork skin, fried egg & broken rice, a Suon Nuong Bi Trung Kho or grilled pork chop, shredded pork skin, braised egg & broken rice, a Canh Kho Qua Don Thit or bitter melon w/ minced pork stuffing in a soup, a Dau Que Xao or stir-fried green beans, a Schweppes Soda, and a fresh coconut. The "Com Tam" sets were very, very good - yummy all in all. The "Canh" or soup was flavourful and the bitter melon with minced pork stuffing was delightful. Only the stir-fried green beans was average, but no complains whatsoever. My wife and I also oved the condiments that came with the meal (see photo herein). Service here was very good - very friendly and courteous. The dining ambience here was as good as it could be as it was not air-conditioned, but the place was well-ventilated. I highly recommend this place for an excellent...

I felt like the chef at Thuan Kieu was playing it safe, thus making the meat taste like it was cooked in an...

Every now and then I revisited this old name (previous visit 2 years ago) in hope they've found ways to improve and catch up to today standard. This visit was a complete disappointment. Here is a good example on how to serve low quality food. Things tasted, smelled and looked like they were made days ago. Nothing fresh. Nothing looked safe to eat without worry of food poisoning.
We gave each dish one bite and...
