My opinion: Ugly. HALAL! I don't need, and don't like this religious way to kill the animals, etc.I saw it to late, we was already siting on the table. I was two times there, the first and the last time. I order some north India Lamb, in cleared butter-sauce, but got the same then my wife, another lamb, all same tomato sauce. Awful taste and mix, consistence. May be the New Zealand Lamb (little meat) was even not LAMB at all ! There Answer was, "sorry, we make all in tomato sauce," I ask why on the menu card they have a choice, In reality there is non choice. That's not correct! "Sorry!" They charge me the full price, at least they could give a small discount for this lie. Any bread or rice not included in the menu price, all to pay, (good long rice, good flat bread.) That's OK, if the food is good and the quality correct. I can suggest them to charge the customers for knife, fork and serviette. may be for chair and table. Noisy ambient, and pseudo...

I have traveled to Vietnam a couple of times. I have been to Nha Trang twice. I am also a fan of Indian food. This is a nice place, great food, good service. A nice switch from other foods generally available. Prices are fair, higher than typical Viet food, but you can get a nice meal for 2 for around 200,000-300,000 Dong. I really liked the Butter Chicken Curry, Naan (Ganesh special and Garlic were both really good). If I'm ever back, I will stop here again.

We went 2 nights in a row, haha

PS: After looking at another review- Rice does not automatically come with it. Because not all people are having rice with curry. Naan will do the trick too, if you want rice there are multiple options for 20-40,000. Not a big deal at all. Actually the second meal we decided we should just do the naan and samosa's than the rice anyway, so Curry is ordered on its own, you decide what you want with it. Still great food, and fair price. I'm craving...

Whenever I am in Nha Trang, I always eat at Ganesh restaurant at least a couple of times a week. Ganesh probably has the biggest and most delicious nan bread in Nha Trang. IMO, their curries are all delicious and the portions are generous. The meals are well-priced so they offer a good value as well.

As for the dining experience, a couple of small things could be improved. 1) The music. Maybe twice when I have dined there, there was this Indian chanting music with the same phrases repeating and repeating. It was boring for me. Better to use Bollywood showtunes or piano jazz. 2) The waitstaff don't smile. I don't expect them to be over the moon when they serve me, but a slightly cheerful "Good afternoon, sir. May I take your order?" with a smile would make the whole dining atmosphere improve greatly.

All in all, I really like eating at Ganesh and will continue to do so. And, if you're looking for very good Indian...

The Ganesh Indian restaurant is at a street corner, close to Nha Trang's marine drive and promenade. The colour and design are pretty, the tables are laid with tablecloths and there is a beautiful, white marble statue of Lord Ganesha at the entrance. The menu of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes is extensive. Non-vegetarians have a choice of lamb and chicken as well. I ordered a vegetarian thali for lunch. The thali is huge. The naan alone can feed two. Additionally it came with pappadums, rice, a dal fry, mixed veg curry, paneer palak, kheer(rice pudding), and raita. It was way too much, but so delicious, I hated having to waste the naan and rice. The service is quiet, unobtrusive and efficient. The tables afford good opportunities for people-watching, as they're beside huge windows on two sides of the restaurant. The food is authentic Indian and popular with tourists and expats.

Another one of those curry houses that insists on putting cream in curries that should remain non-dairy, in my case vindaloo. From what should be a pungent, savoury, spicy gravy to being served what was essentially a ‘spiced-up’ Butter (Makhani) chicken (a dull butter chicken at that), so if you have an aversion to dairy then be warned. It’s firmly my belief that gullible customers are being fobbed-off with whatever is in the one pot of gravy out the back and most curry on the menu is dolloped-out from that one pot. No doubt other menu items are fine and are traditional in taste (as per others reviews) but in many cases, these curries are not what they should be. Portion wise, what I ordered whould have fed two (if you added a naan), so value is good for 280k, I’ll give them that.

Restaurants like this represents the culture of India to the world. when I heard about this chain before coming to Vietnam, I was pretty happy that at least I’ll get the Indian taste at a few places and it happened the same way but i was very disappointed to see how they have designed the whole space. The menu card, which has been touched by dirty hands has Om sign on it, Not just this but even on the cutlery they have curved Om sign and with the same spoon and fork everybody eats even the non-veg food. I’ve never seen such disrespect of the culture. if it was done by a foreigner, then we could have explained them, but when it is done in an Indian place, then it is very disappointing. food was good. That’s why one-star. 🙏🏻
