Coral Restaurant — Restaurant in Phú Quốc

During our first night at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa, we decided to check out the seafood buffet dinner at Coral Restaurant. At 590k VND per person (or ~$32 SGD), a seafood buffet was relatively affordable. First, let us check out the ambience inside Coral Restaurant Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel

The entire buffet is placed outside the restaurant. Inside though, it is air-conditioned and where we chose to sit because outdoors, at dusk is when the mosquitoes strike. Even while seated inside, we had a couple of stings. So while the outdoor seats (which we were first showed to) seems enticing, trust us, choose indoors. The other great thing about the seafood dinner buffet at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa is that there’s a live Filipino band!

The Filipino band was an absolute blast. They actually started singing at about 5:30pm when the sun is about to set, facing the sunset and when the dusk came, they turned around and faced the restaurant, serenading the diners this evening. On top of the excellent vocals and wide repertoire of songs, they were also able to take song dedications – to the delight of some fellow guests this evening. 😊

There were several things that we like about the buffet dinner at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel. Firstly, there was a huge variety that caters to all taste buds. There were something for the kids, for the western and asian taste buds as well as the desserts for everyone! Secondly, the live seafood was actually pretty good. At first there seemed to be a queue but the charcoal fire was hot enough to quickly cook the batches of seafood. 1 hour in and there was no longer a queue for the live BBQ. Thirdly, still on the live seafood – there was so many choices that ranged from scallops to oysters and mussels to whole fish! Our favourite was definitely the Tiger Prawns which were so fresh and succulent. To our surprise, they were all topped up frequently as well – making this a value-for-money dinner buffet!

Excellent hospitality in the Coral Restaurant, besides of the Ocean Night Bar and the Seashells Hotel. Their food is safe and delicious with variety of choice every night. I enjoyed three dinner and three breakfasts in your restaurant. Thur and Say evening they provided BBQ /seafood buffet with live music. I truly appreciated each and every staffs who have served me and my husband during our four day 3 night stay. My husband had coconut ice-cream in the night market. However, he has poor but slightly food poisoning. Be careful of food choice in Phu Quoc. It is always recommended to have it in the Coral Restaurant & hotel if you stay in Seashells Hotel. It's a total rip-off. Don't have the buffet here. The food quality is sooo bad. I had a seafood BBQ at 590,000 vnd per person, and I regret taking my parents here. I have never been so offended by the bad food, and I would never want to eat here again. It is way toooo expensive for what it offers. All the ingredients seem not so fresh, seem like they're using the cheapest ingredients, and not well-prepared. The uni literally tastes like sand, the cooked oyster is cold, the shrimp is dry, the crab is too small with nothing to eat. The kinds of food is too few, and not even one dish was satisfying.
