Terrible service honestly, some of the staff are very disrespectful. They choose and select when the attend to you and you could be waiting a while before you're attended to.

We arrived at the restaurant around 3pm looking to purchase something for lunch and saw a lunch menu item we liked but the lunch menu was only between 12:00pm and 2:30pm. We waited outside where one of the waitresses was talking to a customer and we tried to get her attention without disturbing her conversation but were unsuccessful as they were deep in conversation unrelated to catering. She saw us waiting at the front and did not bother to halt her chat with the customer to ask if we were served or needed any help. As a result, we tried calling another waitress inside the restaurant who saw us waiving at her but she had a vacuum in her hand so we proceeded to wait as we assumed she wanted to put that down and would attend to us. Instead she put the vacuum down and went to have a chat with another lady in the restaurant completely ignoring our calls to her.

We were looking to dine at the restaurant and order one of the burger lunch items but needed to check whether we could still order it given it was past 2:30pm, but following the etiquette of the waitresses on staff we could not fathom dining at a restaurant were customers (or perhaps some customers, more than others) are treated like that.

Out of frustration, I proceeded to walk into the restaurant to ask the young waitress why she blatantly ignored us like she didn't want to serve us. I was asked to step out of the restaurant given I forgot to put on my mask which I respectfully did and expressed my disappointment.

I informed the supervising staff of my intention to leave a bad review as she made no attempt to remedy the situation and take responsibility of her staff member's etiquette. My choice to leave this review is to exercise the only power I have against businesses who disrespect their customers who should be the most important people for the business. Evident in the comment below, there is no indication of responsibility being taken by the business or apology to the customer, instead it is merely an attempt to undermine my right to share my experience so other unsuspecting customers do not have to endure the same...

Horrible service towards my wife. She was told she couldn’t order food because she had a dog and the owner didn’t even approach in a kind way. Just started shouting “YOU CANT HAVE A DOG IN HERE” over and over again. Wife asked, “will someone take my order outside?” and her response “you can tie that THING up outside and come in to order when you are good and ready!” Literally said good and ready, at that point my wife was flustered and told her to observe social distancing because she was right up in her face. There was no one else in line or sitting inside either. For a well established cafe, in the PARKLANDS, how is it possible that they’ve continued as long as they have? Surely having a dog (a 1.4kg chihuahua mind you) inside the store, being held by my wife, for ten seconds hasn’t breached any health codes? Even if it was against policy, a polite response was much more acceptable! Several clients sitting outside were shocked by the rude and aggressive manner in which my wife was treated.

Will not be returning and will...

Wonderful service, great coffee and food!

I stopped in today, as I madly was getting coffee for staff on a school excursion and I was blown away by the service.

Firstly, I rang to check they did takeaways (they did) and Christine picked up the phone on the first ring and told me what I needed to know.

When I arrived I was served quickly, with attention to detail that just made it so easy to get the right coffees for the right people (they wrote the names on each order so I could easily hand them out to the right people, so simple, yet so helpful) and as they knew I was ordering a lot for a school trip they started making the coffees as I ordered (brought another staff member up to help) which meant by the time I had ordered, then bought some of the sweet treats in the display case (they too were amazing) the coffees were ready to go.

Not only this, but they packed extra napkins, sugar packets and stirrers in case people wanted extras.

Everyone loved the coffees and the food.

Thanks for...

Five stars because there is so little comparable. Lounders is away from the noisy hub of Torrens Lake actvity. It's such a beautiful and quiet setting overlooking the river on the south east side of King William St bridge. Great coffee or tea, a cheese platter, bowl of chips or a meal, it is nicely served , fresh and tasty. There was a small band playing today inside so we chose outdoors where we could chat and enjoy the lower volume of music in the background. Well done staff, we'll keep coming back. Prices well below eastern states. Visitors put this lunch or short break on your itinerary.
