My wife and I decided to give Doc Brown Cafe a try solely based on the their mostly great online reviews, however we were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied in both the quality of the food, and to a lesser extent, the coffee. My Soy Latte was okay, but it certainly didn’t stand out from the crowd and definitely not in the ‘great’ category, but the biggest letdown for me was the food. I ordered scrambled eggs on GF toast, which is pretty standard fare and hard to stuff up, even for the most basic of cooks, but.it was probably the worst I have ever eaten in any cafe, ever. The eggs were sloppy with very little flavour, the toast was supermarket bought, there was no garnishing or condiments at all and the presentation looked like something Nanna served up in the 70’s…. Minus the taste. My wife’s avo on toast (toasted on one side only) was at least served on sourdough, with a layer of avocado spread on top, sliced tomato and a sprinkle of Dukkah. She described her meal as very bland, and again, the presentation was unimaginative and uninspired.
