We stayed for 4 nights at Crown which we love. We went to Junction Grill 3 of these nights. The first 2 nights were great but the last night was ruined by one of the waiters named Mathew. We lined up the first 2 nights and got a table. The 3rd night was not as busy at 5:30pm and we asked for a booth. The waitress that met us said sure and went to take us to a booth and then we were stopped by waiter Mathew who said "no no no" they need to sit at the other tables first. We said we had dined in the past 2 nights and could not get a booth so we would love one tonight. But he was adamant that they needed to fill the front tables first. We ordered our fillet steak and entre and a wine. When we finished our wine we waited 10 minutes to get the eye of a waiter to order another but no response as we were tucked away on table 47. So I went to Mathew and asked we could order another wine and he said "Ive been busy"!! so I asked him to get us a wine. Another 11 minuted went by and we got our second glass of wine. Mathews attitude was vey ordinary and he would not last 2 days in my own restaurant. I was dressed fairly casually and I think he judged us wrongly. The advice is NEVER judge a book by its cover as you don't know who you are dealing with. Every customer should be treated better than how we were treated. Besides his behaviour, we love the food and the other staff were great. I let the staff know bout this so I hope they advise Mathew to look after his customers better...
Read moreI went here for dinner on the recommendation of concierge due to various Crown restaurants being closed on Mondays. I was greeted relatively promptly and asked if I could sit outside. I was told that is not their area. The rude waitress then sat me right next to the kitchen & grill which was disgustingly hot. I asked to be moved which was done with some attitude. Once seated, I had barely had a minute to look at the menu and I had been asked twice in 2 minutes by the same rude waitress what I wanted to order. I ordered a bottle of wine and she went off and came back a minute later and told me that they do not sell bottles of wine to one person. I said well give me a glass then. I then sat there with no drink and nobody came to take my order. Eventually I waved the waitress down and asked to order and where my wine was. She was very put out that I ordered a herb and garlic bread and another wine. They did arrive promptly and I ordered my main. Both the herb and garlic bread and the lamb rack were lovely but I won’t go back there due to the rude service. Interesting that there are reviews from years ago saying similar things about the service. They...
Read more3.5 stars. Venue: in the casino. The setting is tend to be between casual and fine. Open kitchen. --- 7.5/10 Service: To be seated. Given menus. After a while, a waiter came to take orders at the table. I had to remind him to tap water as he forgot, obviously. Under my observation, some people got tap water when seated. They are not serving food according to the sequence of the orders. Not logical. Seated platter (ordered 10 mins after us) was faster than garlic prawns. Acceptable waiting time for food. But, a seafood platter can be served in 5 minutes and faster than garlic prawns (15 minutes). Give tap water randomly. --- 6.9/10 F&B: Good presentation. Normal portion. Prices are on the high side but acceptable in a casino. Lamb Rack, $46: served with Potato gratin, broccolini, Shallot red wine jus. Potato Gratin was outstanding. Lamb was cooked medium as I ordered. The Shallot red wine jus was mediocre. --- 7.4/10 Garlic Prawns, $39: served with lemon rice and butter broccolini. There were 8 well-cooked prawns (normal size) in 2 skewers. Bitter broccolini was...
