If you are visiting Perth, WA; Busselton Jetty is a must visit.
It is the longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, 1.871 km long, and there is a train ride to there as well, especially if you are with parents and kids.
I recommend arriving earlier in the day and booking in advance if there is an option. Else, you would have to wait up to 2 to 4 hours for your turn.
There are ample eateries in case you have to wait. I recommend both The Goose and Shelter, Shelter was our preferred choice.
There are toilets when you reach the observatory. I know because I drink a lot of water. 😀
We went walking with two kids, 13 and 7, and both loved the walk. However, we paid $20 to take the train back. So, we experienced both walking and riding the train back. There are two different type of tickets, one that gets you 15 min in observatory and you can walk to and fro and another, that let's you ride the train to and fro and gives you 45 min, including 15 min guided tour.
We chose former and still took the train back, so I lived that combination, but the latter is better money and convenience wise, in case you are with elderly or kids who can not walk that much.
We loved the observatory as well. There is a quiz on the jetty after frequent intervals that keep you and kids busy if you choose to walk, which I strongly recommend.
You can view fishes and the water is very clean. The observatory literally goes 15 mt into the water, and there were people...

For those who enjoy a bit of adventure, the jetty train is a delightful ride that takes you along the length of the jetty, offering a leisurely way to take in the views without the walk. The train ride is especially popular among families and adds a touch of nostalgia to the visit.
The surrounding parklands and picnic areas are perfect for a family day out. With plenty of space to spread out, you can enjoy a picnic with the stunning backdrop of the ocean. There are also numerous BBQ facilities available, making it easy to enjoy a meal outdoors.
Seasonal events and festivals often take place at Busselton Jetty, adding an extra layer of excitement to your visit like when there is a local theme park when I was there. These events showcase local culture and entertainment, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience the vibrant...

The heritage listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Construction of the Busselton Jetty began in 1865. Beginning as a mere 161 metres, sand drift resulted in an additional 131 metres being added in 1875. Further extensions were made throughout the following 90 years creating the remarkable 1.8 kilometre length.
After more than a century of use and servicing over 5000 vessels, the Busselton Jetty officially closed as a Port in 1973. Once closed to shipping, government maintenance ceased.-BusseltonJettyweb
