I was there with my family of four a few weeks ago, and I can safely say we'll never be back. The staff were extremely racist and made us wait for a table when there were a couple free, and prioritised other families who came in after us while we sat in the corner.
REPLY TO OWNER: thank you for your response, however, the fact that you refer to my 'interpreted' racism as exactly that, shows how you fail to understand my point of view. If you had your so called 'booking management' we SHOULD have been asked by your staff if we had a booking, or should have been directed to signs for booking, or even seen anything at your bistro about booking. However, there was no such thing, we were simply asked how many there were, and so were the next family after us. They weren't asked for bookings either, they were also told to wait, just as we were, and were prioritised after the table was cleared. They, to my knowledge, did not have a booking, and were seated before us. Your staff refused to even look at us or care that we were waiting. What you said was a 'management decision' is exactly what I'm addressing. Your management decided to seat a family who came after us, and prioritise them, while we waited for more than 15 minutes, and groups came and went while we sat there humiliated and feeling smaller than ever. Additionally, it shows how ignorant you are of what "real racism" is when you say that there is a 'true' and 'untrue' form of racism. Every small act of discrimination counts, and it's sad to see that you think I'm misinterpreting a situation in which there was clearly discrimination. As people of colour who experience racism, sadly, quite often, we do not make it our life's work to go up to people who discriminate against us, and have a face to face chat. I simply used this forum to avoid confrontation, and tell the public what I thought of your service. So yes, my so called 'misinterpretation' of the situation, and the fact that I chose not to have a conversation while you were clearly 'so busy' to even bother seating us, was not an option. We chose instead, to leave, as we needed to drive back home to Perth that afternoon. This forum is one for criticism, and technology is only aiding that, and your virtue signalling response that scorns my use of that, by saying that 'it is not okay to criticise using technology' is quite out-dated.
I chose my words very wisely, and I would like to say, this is definitely a serious topic, which is exactly why I reviewed the way I did. Racism is not merely an 'argument' for a situation. It is a real problem people like us face, and you should choose the way you behave in your restaurant more carefully.
That said, I too work in hospitality, and I know exactly what its like to receive a review, whether positive or negative. I do hope you take what I say as constructive criticism and not...

Read moreWe happened to be in Busselton around lunch and were feeling hungry - not from being around here - we were on the lookout for something different than your usually cafe lunches. We were pleasantly surprised when we came across a French CrĂȘperie, located on Queen Street.
It is a relatively unassuming restaurant, with some alfresco seating on the street and a cool a/c dining area inside.
The menu is divided into savoury and sweet options, all made with fresh buckwheat crĂȘpes. We ended up deciding on a La Normande ($28) with apple cider slow cooked pork, onion fondue, caramelized apples and French mustard sauce, for me, and a La Provençale ($26) - Provençale style roasted marinated eggplant and tomatoes, house made tomato sauce, Jarlsberg cheese, crumbled feta cheese, and chargrilled zucchinis. It makes my mouth water just remembering how delicious it was. Both dishes were good sized portions and full of flavour.
I have no idea whether this was a truly authentic Brittany style crĂȘpe or not but what I can tell you it was one of the best savoury crĂȘpes I have ever consumed. If I had the room in my stomach, I probably could have gone with one of their sweet crĂȘpes as well.
I strongly recommend making a stop here for brunch or lunch, you won't be...
