5 Stars – A Mind-Bending, Heart-Smiling Wonderland!

From the moment my group stepped through the doors of Ripley’s in Surfers Paradise, we were swept into a whirlwind of wonder, curiosity, and straight-up weird delight—in the best way possible!

Each room felt like a different universe, bursting with the bizarre, the hilarious, the spine-tingling, and the truly awe-inspiring. Whether it was marvelling at incredible oddities from around the world, giggling at optical illusions, or trying to wrap our heads around the interactive exhibits, there was never a dull moment. Hats off to Mary.. you are a keeper!

The staff were warm, welcoming, and just the right mix of quirky and knowledgeable—they clearly love where they work, and that good vibe is contagious from management clearly.

Ripley’s is more than a tourist stop—it’s a celebration of the strange, the unbelievable, and the beautifully human stories that remind us the world is far more magical than we often give it credit for. If you’re in Surfers, don’t just walk past—step inside and prepare to have your jaw dropped and your imagination reawakened...

Absolutely brilliant. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Believe it or not—I’m...

Plan for approximately one hour at the museum itself. Additionally, allocate around 15 minutes for the 7D experience and another 15 to 20 minutes for the mirror maze.

The museum is a unique and fascinating place filled with an eclectic collection of oddities and curiosities from around the world. However, I recommend against bringing children between the ages of 5 and 10 unless they are fearless. Some of the exhibits can be quite spooky or unsettling, which might not be suitable for younger children. On the flip side, toddlers may find some of the interactive displays in the museum quite entertaining.

The 7D experience and the mirror maze were definite highlights of the visit. Both kids and adults in my group thoroughly enjoyed these attractions. The 7D experience is an immersive and thrilling ride that adds an extra dimension to the already intriguing world of Ripley's. The mirror maze, on the other hand, provided a fun challenge as we navigated our way through a maze of reflections.

However, it's worth noting that Ripley's Believe It or Not! can be a bit expensive, so be prepared for the cost. It's a unique and entertaining experience, but the price tag might be steep for...

Honestly an extremely dated, overpriced, tacky imitation of a museum. Most of the "oddities" are average at best sculptures of the real thing, and anything of historical interest you would find at a museum.

Advertised as 2 floors and 350+ exhibits, 1 floor is the shop, so that doesn't count. The exhibits were just... poor.

The "interactive" parts of the attraction were not functional, or implemented poorly. The intention of this place is to wow and astound you. It just doesn't do it. The tunnel was the only part of the attraction that was worth taking a second look at.

The "LaseRace" scoreboard and timer didn't work, as much as it was fun to do, there was no competitive part to it as advertised.

The "7D" theatre... The only redeeming part of the attraction, but at 5 minutes long it just wasn't enough to make this place worth visiting.

Save your money and avoid the buyers regret that I now have.

*EDIT - Dan reached out as you can see below. 2 weeks on from writing to him I have not heard a peep. Seems commenting on negative reviews is an attempt to make it look like...

One of the most fascinating collections of weird and wacky oddities you're likely to come across. From cannibal trophies, to artwork comprised of slices of toast, to a lock of Elvis' hair, it is impossible to predict what you are going to run into next at this museum. Each section is very well thought-out and presented and keeps things fresh as you explore them, and the interactivity is plentiful and I would highly recommend going with friends to get the most of out them. Some things I want to point out though, I wish some of the interactive portions didn't require money to operate (the grip strength machine, the shooting gallery etc.) as you are already paying a decent entry free to get in, and while the 7D ride and mirror maze are ok they do feel completely disconnected from the Ripley brand and a little tacked-on. Otherwise, this is a museum that is pretty impossible to get bored in (probably the single best one in Australia to bring kids along to) and there's always something unbelievable just around the corner waiting for you.

I recently visited Ripley’s Believe It or Not while staying in the Gold Coast. It was good fun and had many wacky and weird artefacts to see. You can read through many interesting historical facts about Ripley’s collection, and learn more about different cultural practices. There are also lots of artefacts which are interactive and entertaining. It took us about an hour and a bit to walk through the whole museum, which then we moved onto the 7D cinema experience was also pretty cool! Just ensure if you are taking kids to do the 7D cinema experience to not choose a scary one as it might frighten them. Additionally, staff were lovely to talk to! I would recommend Ripley’s for all ages. You can buy tickets online or at the door. But I would suggest buying them online so you can just head in straight away. Overall great place to visit!
