The Emporium, Melbourne CBD

Our recent visit to The Emporium in Melbourne's bustling CBD was an experience to remember. With five expansive levels filled with an array of quality retailers, this shopping destination is truly a paradise for anyone who loves to shop, dine, and explore.

One of the highlights of our visit was enjoying a coffee break at Little Sparrow Cafe. Nestled within The Emporium, this cozy cafe provided a much-needed respite from our shopping spree. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect spot to recharge. The coffee was exceptional, with rich, bold flavors, and paired perfectly with their selection of freshly baked pastries.

As we continued our journey through The Emporium, we were impressed by the diverse selection of retailers. For fashion enthusiasts, Ted Baker stood out with its sophisticated British style, offering a range of impeccably tailored clothing and accessories. The store's elegant layout and attentive staff made shopping here a pleasure.

Scanlan Theodore was another gem, offering high-end Australian fashion that seamlessly blends modern and classic styles. The minimalist design of the store itself reflected the brand's ethos of understated luxury, making it a must-visit for those looking to add timeless pieces to their wardrobe.

For those seeking the latest in beauty and skincare, Mecca was a true standout. The store's extensive range of products, from cult classics to emerging brands, was impressive. Knowledgeable staff were on hand to offer personalized advice, ensuring that every customer left with products tailored to their needs.

We also explored Incu, a unique concept store that brings together a carefully curated selection of local and international brands. The eclectic mix of fashion, accessories, and lifestyle products made it a favourite, offering something for everyone.

As we made our way through the various levels, we couldn't help but admire the thoughtful design of The Emporium itself. The spacious, modern architecture, combined with the natural light flooding in from the skylights, created an inviting and comfortable shopping environment.

Overall, The Emporium in Melbourne CBD is more than just a shopping centre; it's a destination. With its blend of high-end fashion, beauty, and lifestyle retailers, along with cozy cafes like Little Sparrow, it offers a complete experience that caters to both locals and visitors alike. Whether you're looking to indulge in some serious retail therapy or simply enjoy a leisurely day out, The Emporium is...

This has been the family’s favourite meet spot for quite a while now. Relos coming from East North, and West suburbs. Today, we had a family from Brisbane. As usual, hang out is at Emporium, as opposed to Melbourne Central. However, this time we had to take our elderly grandma wanting to bond with grand children long awaited surprise meetup. We had to borrow one of the wheelchairs at 12:45pm. The ladies at the info guest are so kind and accommodating. Top notch customer service. Was told that we can have it for 3 hours, but if no other people needing them, we can have it until at least half jour before closing (7pm). So we planned the stay around that time. Come 3:59pm, got a call from an angry and very rude guy (AMAL). Saying that we’re only allowed to have it for 3 hours. I said yeah I’m aware, and I asked if there’s anyone else needing the wheelchair coz I was told we can have it for longer if not. We were still eating (18 people) at Din Tai Fung at the time. He said “no” but need to return it regardless coz only 3 hours allowed. I said we have an elderly using it. Can I return it 5-6pm? He said return it at 5pm and hangup. Then after half hour, he again rang my wife’s number, I answered it. AMAL again being rude asking for the wheelchair. Saying no one else need it but because he’s alone at the desk he is so busy and need the wheelchair asap. I don’t understand the logic. I didn’t argue, I just said ok, as I did not want to upset the grandma who at this time already have an idea that it’s about the wheelchair. And feeling uneasy, instead of enjoying time with her grandkids. In the end, 6pm we’re on our way to the lift that is closest to the carpark, passing the guest/info desk, AMAL called us with a very rude tone repeating what he’s been saying on the phone. I asked for a bit of sympathy pointing to the elderly currently in the wheelchair, but he’s still going on and on. So I said I’ll come back and we have a chat. So took grandma to lift, to carpark, returned the wheelchair to AMAL who’s not really busy, only 1 pair of customer asking something. I handed it in and asked him if he’s hot anything else to say to me. He said “i already said all I needed to say” and indeed he did.

He’s one of the rudest customer service person I have ever encountered. He may need to have more training in customer service and if he’s got seniority, you may want to review his performance. Looking at some of the reviews here, I may have to guess that it is about the same person....

Today's experience at Emporium has left me furious and extremely disappointed in its appalling management. Clearly, this mall is not suitable for everyone, as it is filled with lunatics and deviants, with not a single security guard or staff member capable of effectively stopping them. My wife and I had looked forward to a pleasant Friday evening, only for everything to be completely ruined by Emporium's sickening management style.

Around 6 p.m. on 12/April/2024 Friday evening, I witnessed a lunatic racing on a scooter between the second and third floors. What was shocking is that I did not see any security personnel stepping in to stop this lunatic. He recklessly rode the scooter, crashing into pedestrians, resulting in my wife getting injured, her drink spilled, and her clothes scratched and ruined. However, the management had no effective measures or assurances, only offering two absurd and laughable free coffee vouchers to "appease" our anger. According to their sole security and on-duty staff, "You know, these things happen often, we can't stop him. Our management isn't in on weekends, so you might have to wait until next week for a response. I'll report what happened, but I can't guarantee anything." I simply cannot believe such a thing could happen here.

I strongly demand that Emporium implements stricter security measures to ensure the safety of all customers. This is not only to safeguard our personal property but also to uphold the reputation and image of the entire mall. I hope Emporium takes this incident seriously and adopts concrete and effective measures to prevent similar situations from occurring again. I do not wish for Emporium to become a worrisome mall, as it is evident that now you must tread carefully, as Emporium lacks any security measures to guarantee your personal safety, and no one seems to care about your shopping...
