My partner and I decided to do an escape room whilst in Melbourne for the first time. Rush Escape Game was honestly one of the best things we did here. The puzzles were incredible and so different from one another keeping it very interesting.
We started at South Yarra and completed 3 rooms over there and the service with Bianca was so good we decided to try some rooms over at Hawthorn whilst in the area with some time to kill before our flight.
As soon as we walked through the door we instantly felt welcomed. Ryan our Games Master was extremely bubbly and energetic which really made my partner and I feel at ease and made the experience that much better. We started with the Nine-Nine room which was my partners favourite. It was well themed and so creative with the puzzles. We decided we wanted to try HackSaw as well and I am so glad we did. It was amazing and such a fun and intriguing experience and was probably my favourite. Whilst we waited for our Games Master Ryan to reset the room, we were greeted by Aaron and Nik in the waiting room who were also so lovely. I am amazed about the atmosphere and the customer service here at Rush. The rooms were amazing but the customer service was honestly what made us wanting to stay and do more rooms and be around their positive aura. Thatās why we stayed and did a third room Strangest Things which was more difficult but still great nonetheless. Even though we nearly missed our flight...
Overall, would 100% recommend these escape rooms. We completed them all at Hawthorn, now gotta complete the others at South Yarra that we havenāt finished. Amazing experience and so glad we met the people we did which really made for a massive highlight in our Melbourne trip. Thank you to our Games Masters Ryan, Bianca and the rest of...

Went with a group of 4 people for the Hacksaw room. Let me preface this by saying the attendant/worker was very nice and did her best during the safety procedures and intro.
I was placed in the locked room. Typically in escape rooms, if there is a locked room with a participant inside, it should be a forced priority to get that person out. Further, after being placed in an isolated element, teamwork is a great way to get this person out. However, in this escape room, the person isolated has all of the clues hidden within their room. I did not leave the room for 35 of the 60 minutes. This could definitely be my stupidity, however, i did not want to ruin the escape room for my friends by asking for hints so kept silent while waiting for them to find the clues in the other room. When we did escape the room, i asked the attendant if people typically get stuck in the room and she said yes. She also said she reaches out via the walkie talkie after 15 minutes which we never received. I think this element is really poor by design; the isolated person is left to themselves in an escape room they came to with their friends, the friends feel bad for the person isolated. Id really recommend redesigning this element.
The room also had one of the final clues unlocked accidentally which ruined the ending and compounding with my isolation for the majority of the time, i was lost and the room was completed within 10 minutes if my time out of isolation.
They did offer a 50% voucher for a next time that we come. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe did two rooms hacksaw and stranger things. Both room were mainly padlocks with minimal electronic/mechanical locks. Hacksaw is set up like the movie in a bathroom. This room was decorated very well. The puzzles flowed quite well, but this is only a one room game. We got out with 15 mins to go and overall this was a fun game. Stranger things Is a room I would not recommend. It made no sense to us. We had no idea what our objective was. The puzzles did not connect to the story. Why is the speed or strength of a mythical creature relevant for a number lock? We found this room quite frustrating. I have never watched stranger things so not sure if this is the reason why we didnāt get this room. We were not even sure when the game had ended, as the last sequence was running when the timer stopped. The rooms were too dark for us to see the padlocks. You are allowed to bring your phone in to see, but it seems that the added expense of batteries and torches were too much to spend for this business. It just kills the theme of being held captive in a bathroom with your mobile phone. The price is too expensive. We went on a weeknight, when itās cheaper, but on weekends the price is $61 per person. This would be the highest cost escape room in Australia, and for a one room game, and a poor flowing room this is just priced too high. If the rooms were better or bigger or longer the price might be justified, but itās not. I spend $196 for these two rooms. As a price comparison, my ticket to Harry Potter the play was $190 and that went for 5.5 hours, and had huge...
