Came to see Omid Hajili sing. The theatre itself is pure magic, it retains the glamour of yesteryear, with a sweeping staircase leading from entrance foyer to first floor. The theatre itself had original chandeliers, lots of turned wood lace work, heavy drapes but had updated and high quality seating. Other reviews note a lack of female toilets, but this was clearly not an issue when I was there a week ago, there were both male and female toilets on either side of the floor where the refreshment bar is located. Was a perfect location to see Omid in, room to dance for those who wanted to stand in the aisles, good sound quality, good quality lighting, and an intimate setting but big enough to party in. Loved it. I would love to see more shows here. The staff blew me away, particularly the very beautiful tall young woman at the top of the stairs kindly telling each person which way to go, without being bossy or directing, or being bored - she was genuinely speaking with each and every person coming up those stairs. An absolutely triumph of personalised customer service. Well done to The...
Read moreI was invited to the venue to help promote the event, so I was genuinely shocked when a staff member aggressively yelled at me in front of a crowd while I was simply taking a photo. I had my toddler with me, my hands full, and was trying to capture content to support the show.
His tone and approach felt unnecessarily hostile — it wasn’t just firm, it was confrontational. It left me feeling embarrassed, rattled, and uneasy for the rest of the show.
I completely understand if there are policies around photography, but there’s a respectful way to communicate that — especially to someone who was invited to be there and clearly not trying to do the wrong thing.
I’m still grateful I had the chance to attend, but I hope this feedback leads to more professional and respectful interactions moving forward, especially toward guests who are there to support the event with young...
Read moreThe staff at the National Theatre are second to none. As the opening act for a famous international artist, the staff showed us no less priority. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable with our sound, they made sure we had our own green room and they ensured we were happy and making the most of the experience. It’s not often we get this sort of treatment as artists and I have to say it made our night. We would personally love to hire the National Theatre for our own concert now; not just for the ethereal decor, the world-class sound and the well thought-out seating, but definitely also for the wonderful staff whom we would have great pleasure in working with again. Well done guys and kudos to you for having such a friendly and helpful nature despite having to work all day on...
