A few months ago I woke up on a Sunday morning and totally could not move my back or body. I literally could hardly walk. The day before my back had spasmed and it got dreadfully worse over night. I have had on and off back issues for 8 years after the birth of my 4th child , a frantic job, loads of airline travel and probably not doing enough to strengthen my core. I found myself desperate for medical attention- and it was a Sunday! We rang around and found Wellbeing at Hawthorn was open on Sundays- and went straight over. My husband had to literally help me to get in and out of the car and into the practice. Dr Andrew was on that day and he totally took charge. I was crying and in pain- and he just swung into gear. A professional and empathetic diagnosis- an X-ray and treatment. I left still in acute pain- but over the course of the next 4-5 days and going back to the clinic - things started to improve. And suddenly I could walk again! I then followed up with Dr Adam who has now got me 100% back on track. I was going weekly /fortnightly for a period of time and now I visit monthly or every second month. I am complimenting this with some suggested stretches to strengthen my core. Bad backs can certainly be very very painful and tricky to manage. And I have had a few painful back episodes over the years- its also a bit depressing - as suddenly your life stops....you can't go to work or function! I am now back up in Sydney - but plan to keep visiting Dr Adam at Hawthorn when I travel for work to Melb. They are open at perfect hours to suit busy work schedules. Adam and Andrew could not be better in terms of the treatment and advice. If you have a back issue- do yourself a big favour and go in and see Andrew and Adam. I can't thank them enough for helping me - and getting me going again. Andrew and Adam - you have definitely won me...
Read moreI've been seeing Dr. Peter Vrakatselis since February 2019. I had been diagnosed with Meniere's disease - a vestibular disorder of the inner ear - and had heard good reviews about Atlas Orthoganol treatment for this condition. Dr. Peter Vrakatselis, being one of only 15 Atlas Orthoganol chiropractors in Australia, was my obvious choice of practitioner. from my first treatment I knew this was the right choice. X-rays were taken to confirm weather I was a candidate for the specific Atlas Orthogonal treatment which happily I was. My treatment involves minor adjustments over a period of time and some quick daily stretches to do at home. I have experiences a huge improvement in my symptoms. My tinnitus which was near constant (and I have experienced since childhood) has decreased by at least 90%! (I only hear it very quietly at night before going to sleep). The blocked ear feeling I experienced for more than a year and a half, which led to hearing loss in that ear (and was starting to happen in the other), has completely gone away after just 5 or so sessions. It returned a few times but has now been gone for weeks! I feel like I have my life back! I have also not experienced any episodes of vertigo since starting treatment - just a few dizzy spells which quickly subsided. As a bonus the headaches which I have suffered from my whole life have also all but disappeared. My sinuses which are usually sore to the touch are not anymore. I look forward to my weekly chiropractic sessions with the professional, friendly and welcoming team at Wellbeing Chiropractic! The receptionist who works on a Wednesday afternoon is especially welcoming and helpful too. I highly recommend Dr. Peter Vrakatselis and the Wellbeing Chiropractic team to anyone especially to Meniere's...
Read morePosting this under a different name - I saw one of the Chiropractors in Hawthorn earlier this year to get treated for Carpel Tunnel. I was offered a 'discount' if I bought 10 sessions upfront along with the denneroll cervical which they would charge me their cost price of $55 as opposed to $65 ( although another Chiropractor clinic was selling them for $45 only as I found out later only).
In detail, they said it might be related to the neck and I was instructed to perform neck stretches using the denneroll. As for the sessions, it would involve Use a gun massager to loosen some muscles in the back and neck Crack neck Crack elbow Crack fingers Crack back
And minimal patient interaction. I always felt rushed to ask questions as he was aways in a rush for the next patient and my session was no more than 10min so I think I'm in the right to complain about that.
By the end of the 10 sessions, my carpel tunnel hadn't improved although the neck curve which he aimed to get back into its normal curve did get better , although this was mainly due to use of the denneroll every night.
I was instructed that it would be better to continue seeing him to ensure the ongoing maintenance of my improvement although this absolutely made no sense in that my carpel tunnel was never fixed which he also admitted so I'm not sure exactly what he was he was referring to.
I didn't expect my carpel tunnel to fixed from these Chiropractic sessions but the fact that he DIDN'T seemed genuinely interested in helping me but rather was interested in making a quick...
