Newcastle Beach is such a lovely local beach, with The Canoe Pool & Ocean Baths on the north side & a shared path which runs right along the beach, (Bathers Way) to The Bogey Hole & King Edward Park, Shepherd's Hill & Strzelecki Lookout, then along The Anzac Memorial Walk down to Bar Beach & all the way to Merewether. (It's currently not accessible via Newcastle Beach though due to the construction of a skate park, & it isn't accessible by bicycle between The Bogey Hole & Shepherd's Hill, & along The Anzac Memorial Walk, but you can cycle up through King Edward Park & down to Bar Beach along the road).
