The Humble thai restaurant — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

It was public holiday when we had dinner here outdoor. And as it was located close to our accomodation, we could see a long queue every day at its door.

Regarding the food, I have nothing to say but so tasty and good amount of portion. And my starts goes to food only, but I will explain why. We all know giving full stars to a restaurant is not only about the food.

Regarding the outdoor furniture, as the walk side had a slope, it made the sitting on the chairs too uncomfortable, I left there with a backache unfortunately.

Dinner ware, the side plates, all came in different pattern, shape and model, and I could see it on all the tables around us. It’s out of a standard for a restaurant.

Also regarding the staff and how they were doing, First I want to thank them for their hardworking, and it was totaly understandable that they were trying their best to host and serve the people fast, but it coulnt justify it that they were running all the time between kitchen and the tables with full hands of few plates and drinks. It’s not professional at all and puts stress on customers as well.

Hope they can manage those 3 mentioned items soon so people can enjoy their time more than before while...

My husband and I came here for the first time because of all the reviews raving about the food, and we weren’t disappointed!

We loved the duck curry, massaman, coconut rice and pad sieu; strong flavours, beautifully soft meat, and the servicing sizes were much larger than we expected. We were impressed by how quickly our food arrived, and felt that it was all priced very reasonably.

I feel it’s important to note that this isn’t a calming dining experience. When we first arrived we were struck by how noisy it is (the open kitchen is in the same small room, so loud frying and exhaust fan noises are there at all times). We were seated by the window, furthest from the kitchen, and I can only imagine how distracting and difficult it would be to hear when seated anywhere else. There’s also a lot of bustle with takeaway pickups and delivery drivers going to and fro, which we hadn’t anticipated. Still, the exceptional food more than made up for it, though we’d think twice about coming here with any...

Well after reading good reviews I thought we'd try it out this past friday night. Don't waste your time. We got the banquet for 2 which is completely overpriced, should have been half the price, at $120 it was a total rip off. For that we got the smallest entree ever with 2 overcooked chicken sticks and 2 mini spring rolls. Main was 4 tiny dishes which were ordinary at best. The one saving grace was a pork dish that had about 8 small pieces of pork between 2. Atmosphere was freezing, don't go to the bathroom up the alley way, but you'll deal with that if you can open the door being held shut with weighted bags. The staff waiting our table were clueless about serving people, they brought all 4 dishes out at once, which went cold, we had one small bowl of rice which was cold, and one small plate to eat all of our meals from. Way overpriced, bad tasting food served by incompetent junior staff. Wouldn't recommend this...
