Pacific Park is in Newcastle East, at the end of the light rail (the last stop) on Scott St & Pacific St. It's a 2 minute walk accross the park to Newcastle Beach, The Kiosk, Estabar & Noahs on The Beach, & right beside the park in Pacific St, you have The Falcon & 2300 Cafe. It is also just accross the road from Hunter St Mall with Moor Cafe on the corner, & Newcastle YHA Backpackers just a few doors up on Pacific St. If you cross over the rd on Scott St, you can walk down to the harbour foreshore through The Convict Yard. There is also an IGA store accross the park on Scott St, & The Grain Store on the corner of Scott & Telford. The park itself is a popular thoroughfare for commuters, & is frequented by children on scooters, skateboards, & cyclists. The terminating stop for the shiny new tram is next to here on Scott St. One letdown- On a hot sunny day the walk through this park is irritating due to the lack of shade on the main walkway from Pacific St to Telford St. There are trees, big old nice ones, but they are at the side of the park, not the middle, which is annoying.
