Kirra Beach Hotel — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Good location, I understand they’ve recently renovated and are probably tweaking things and service hence the extra star. Went on a Saturday arvo, probably about 75% full so busy but plenty of extra tables. Service was abysmal, lined up at the bar to be pointedly ignored, I let someone cut in front without saying anything only to have another customer approach a few minutes later behind me with the bartender asking “who was next” and looking back and forth between us - I ordered two overpriced soft drinks before joining a line of people waiting to order food. There was only one person taking orders, and she advised there was a 30-40 min wait on food - good of her to communicate to customers. Decided to just order a side of chips and after nearly half an hour of waiting had to leave for an appointment so advised to cancel - the same girl offered a refund which was nice of her. Disappointed as the place has potential but won’t be rushing back. It’s obvious they need more staff rostered on as half looked miserable to be there and probably were run off their feet. On the 7th of July, Approximately 1:30pm This beautiful, voluptuous cheese burger got sat down at my table. I look down to take my fourth bite in ( approximately half the burger ) and I see a green little grasshopper jumping around the lettuce. I open my burger to the sight of over 10 little bugs struggling to stay alive, I take the lettuce off for a proper examination and I find my little friends struggling to escape out of the cheese. I look even further and my little friends are burrowed in this scrumptious sauce. I look to my friend that’s also eating a cheeseburger, her facial expressions I will never forget she is shocked…. We get our cheese burgers replaced only to be even more disappointed as I am examining the lettuce AGAIN only to be surprised to see our little green friends AGAIN. I start chomping on the burger anyway and ONLY TO FIND the first burger patty is connected to the new burger patty with a phat piece of melted cheese. The new burger patty was RAW (kinda liked it) the old burger patty was burnt To a crisp. When I close my eyes I can still see my little friends struggling to survive but hey...

Booked 4 seats upstairs at Kirra Beach House..Sat outside after working out what tables weren't booked. Note no instructions on their website how to book specific tables. Was directed to order via the table QR code took 35min to get 2 drinks after going to the bar and complaining not once but twice. Bar staff were clearly giving preference to customers that walked up to the bar long after we had ordered.Whats the point in using the QR code system. Cocktail had a huge block of ice that ruined it with melted water. Drink prices are ridiculous .Enoughs enough we thought we would try downstairs. Very busy but better service at the bar and prompt delivery of our food order. We have eaten several times at Siblings across the road. Pole position views of the point, much better service, great menu, fair prices. Do yourself a favour go to Siblings and no watered down...
