Chatswood Chase Shopping Center is terrible & very badly managed in my opinion. The Management is terrible and needs to be removed & changed in my humble opinion. Since Xmas last year most shop owners have left without any replacements. Walk in this supermarket and you will have a shock as basically every loyal shop owner has left. Look at other suberbs their Shopping Centers are vibrant with decent numbers patronising the supermarkets. Why $$$ ? How can a shopping Center survive when they remove long time loyal Shop Business owners who offer essential day to day services to Chatswood Residents ? Loyalty to shop owners & a duty to Chatswood residents are being compromised leaving a ugly & bad reputation for Chatswood itself. Is the rental costs being raised justified at the expense of Chatswood residents ? Other suberbs seem better. With the current economy many households are cutting costs so higher rentals are not the solution. When the numbers start to drop that where $$$ will be lost....Penny wise pound foolish in my opinion. Westfield Chase seems a better option to shop for now. In my opinion Thumbs down to the Chatswood Management for not providing...
Read moreNice shopping centre however had to rate it one star because of security and parking. I parked here at around 7pm went to see a movie and came back around 10pm. When I came back, the car park was closed off at all entrances and the doors to the shopping centre were locked. It wasn't even 12am, when the car park supposedly closes. How is anyone supposed to get to their car if they're not in the shopping centre? There wasn't even a visible stairway or walkway into the car park and there were no security officers there to help direct us. We wandered around for an hour and a half trying to find another entrance. I eventually had to squeeze through a gate just so I could get into the car park. Got to my car and the main exit was closed off, tried to find the other exit but the signs were extremely unclear about where it was. During this time the lights in the car park were shut off which made it even harder to find the signs (still wasn't 12am). By the time I managed to find the exit using my gps, I still had to pay $10 to get out. Will definitely be parking in Chatswood Westfield...
Read moreI had never been here before. They're doing renovations in the central area. Moving the elevators. Really disruptive. It tries to be upmarket, but it's the same stores as every other large mall. It's a bit of a rabbit warren to navigate, ie hard to glance at which stores are in a certain direction, as some have poor signage until you're right in front of them. Seemed a bit dead on a weekday, except for all the kept women and retirees in the cafe. I saw some really exxy meals. Who is paying $28 to eat at a shopping centre for a weekday lunch? David Jones had limited stock in the department I went to. And lululemon had limited stock compared to other stores, ie didn't carry much in size 14-18. I'm sure it's a different vibe on the weekend. It definitely gave death knell for bricks and mortar retail vibes.
There was also zero space to sit, unless in a Cafe. 1 in 3 Australians are disabled (once you count mobility, pain, aging). Being unable to rest discouraged me from staying longer. Why are they so afraid to...
