This large-scale memorial is located adjacent to George St in the centre of the city but is far enough away from traffic noise to allow for peaceful reflection. It commemorates the Royal Australian Regiment, which was formed at the end of WWII and is Australia’s first regular operational infantry regiment.
The memorial consists of a large sandstone wall and several bronze reliefs, covering conflicts and peacekeeping missions the RAR has been involved in.
