The Cool Space - Escape Rooms — Attraction in Sydney

I had the pleasure of making Séance my 60th escape room. This game is truly, truly special. It ranks among the best games I have ever played. A truly immersive and unique theatrical feat. Daniel and Josh are new in the owners’ circuit but clearly have the industry experience and passion to make this game sing. They have a strong sense of what makes puzzles fun, challenging and rewarding at the same time. Every solve was gratifying and encouraged many “aha!” moments. There is a wonderful variety of puzzles and all stay very well on theme.

The technical prowess on display is absolutely stunning. Everything went off without a hitch and the set design was perfect. They really knew how to use a small space by utilising such a unique concept. Staying seated throughout the entire experience never felt claustrophobic or limiting. If anything, it encouraged immersion in the story and setting and even enhanced the scare factor. The lighting is not only masterfully used to enhance the set but also the puzzles. The sound design is also the best I have ever seen in an escape room and truly blew me away.

I don’t usually enjoy live actors in escape rooms but I very much did so here. Instead of being used as a tool, the live actors felt like more of a guide to us on our journey and feel much more involved in the story. As opposed to being an addition to an experience, here they feel like an essential and beneficial part of the design.

Our arrival and exit at The Cool Space was a very easy and friendly experience. The location is easy to find and is close to public transport (we were able to grab street parking just around the corner). Our excitement to play was matched by our hosts and a very thorough debrief of the game was given to us after escaping. It was wonderful to chat with the owners about their game so passionately.

I am struck with a sense of awe knowing that Séance is only their first game. If this is what they can do on their first attempt, I cannot wait to see what they come up with in the future. 5/5 stars. I wish I could rate it higher. You must come and experience Séance...

Alright, so I’ve tackled my fair share of escape rooms – we’re talking 70 and counting – and let me tell you, Seance at The Cool Space is up there with the best of ‘em. Even though it’s only been open for two weeks, this room is already making waves.

First off, let’s talk about the scares. It’s spooky, sure, but not “I-can’t-sleep-for-a-week” kind of spooky. The focus here is all about getting you immersed in the story without making you jump out of your skin every five seconds. They struck a nice balance, if you as

Now, picture this: you’re seated. Yeah, you heard me right. Seated. None of that running-around-like-a-headless-chicken business. It’s a refreshing change, let me tell you. Being planted in one spot really hones your focus on the puzzles. No distractions, no unnecessary legwork – just good old-fashioned brain-teasing fun.

Props to the owners, by the way. These guys know their stuff. They’ve been around the escape room block and it shows. Their experience shines through in every aspect of Seance, from the puzzles to the atmosphere.

Overall, Seance at The Cool Space gets a big thumbs up from me. Can’t wait to see what other tricks they’ve got up...

My brother, dad, and I did the Sweethearts Parlour escape room today as a Father’s Day Event. It was my idea, so there was a lot of (self-imposed) pressure on me to pick the best option in Sydney for my Dad’s first Escape Room experience.

I was worried about finding something that would be challenging but not impossible to solve, especially with a relatively small group. I am so glad we have ended up here, because it really was the most thorough and carefully designed escape room I’ve been to (I’ve only done 2 others, 1 in Sydney and 1 in London).

As it looked new and relatively niche I thought it might not be up to par - but quite the opposite. As my dad said - you can see this was a labour of love, with so much attention to detail. I won’t ruin any surprises - but if you have a sweet tooth and a curious mind, this is the Escape Room for you ❤️
