Went on a bit of a hike exploring Sydney, and came across this place. There were no events on so I didn't know exactly what this place is for, but the engineering in this is quite a sight to see! Looks like they've carved out a massive piece of a hill given the huge limestone walls, and they've got this massive big underground space to hold events at. We then walked up the stairs to the top, and there's a lovely large grassed area with paths around there. A great spot to watch the sunset, plus you can catch a glimpse of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Read moreThe Cutaway is a slightly quirky event space that more often than not hosts art events, cut from sandstone that is still exposed, it's always interesting to see what is happening here. The views from the location are also pretty fantastic. However please note: Food at the venue isn't an ever present thing it relies on food trucks to do this service. Bathrooms exist here. Transport is only OK / not great closest train station is Wynyard (barangaroo exit). Buses aren't far check routes relevant to you but you'll still need to walk in. The venue is very spacious and provides a very relaxed vibe. It's a lovely walk from Barangaroo Wharf, perhaps an extra long one due to construction, but enjoyable nonetheless. You can easily take a break from the event you're attending, sit on the rocks that slowly descend toward the water that stretches out in front, or take a stroll through Barangaroo Reserve.
